That is the plot of every movie. You create conflict, drama takes place, even in comedies and drama, and it ends up in a buildup that ends in a resolution.

It still amounts to humans wanting control and resolution that confirms their bias.

I think TFA's references and similarity to ANH was just to draw both old and new crowds to the sequel trilogy. Now that they established their new story/universe I think they're going to be much more ambitious. Luke's line in this trailer about the Jedi needing to end makes me believe that.

They were both awesome in all the original three, and while it is sad she died, it is still a new generation of viewers/fans. I really am not sure even with both of them in this new one, if it would live up to what I got used to. I really do get the appeal though. Again,  it is no different than those who have their favorite James Bond.

Of course it is a new generation.  It's a transition from one set of character to a new set of characters.  We saw the same with the Star Trek movies in the 90s moving from the original cast to the Next Generation cast.

And, no doubt, in a few years, if they manage to resurrect Star Trek successfully, we'll see a transition to a new, younger cast (I don't count the Abrams movies as "true" Trek.  You don't change 40 years of established 'Trek history on a whim...)

Because some things are sacred!  (Just not religion.)

It seemed to me that even for a teaser for ep7 they were really making an effort to intrigue people and now it's like "Meh, it's Star Wars. You know what to do".

It's almost the exact same trailer.

I can't find myself agreeing with you on that because ep7 teaser was more gripping - you know people were excited with "Black storm-trooper", "What is that ball robot?", "What is this new lightsaber?", "Yeah! Millennium Falcon is back!"
But ep8 teaser just showed same old stuff. Didn't excite anything, except few theories that Luke might be on the dark side which is is lame, because dark side is all about power and not living some sort of ascetic, humble and secluded life. It even reminded me when ep7 trailer came out and SNL made parody how Luke is living in a cave and walking with a lightstroller.

I mean I don't want to dish on SW. It's nice there's anything going on to make people wander and fantasize what's out there in outer space.
