Indeed doing things to take of yourself is most important before one can try to wish well for another person's well-being. You have to have peace of mind to spread peace of mind to others.

And fearing hell is a virtue since it's a place of distance to God.

And indeed the great hope should be love for God and love for God, and greatest fear should be to have hate towards God and hate from God.

May God guide us in the ways that lead to the balanced love we are meant to have, where our love is not mixed with dark intentions but is sincerely for the sake of God. Amen
Do you even know what the word 'virtue' means?

It means having high moral standards.  Those with high moral standards need no punishment nor reward to be good.  They only need to be good.   Those who do good because some invisible sky wizard tells them to or he will punish them does not have very high moral standards.
The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Don't ask stupid questions that only show you were horny during the post.

Love is a well known attribute of even animals. We as humans, called our feeling of loyalty and belonging "love".
Does the action of a pervert who spends hours waiting for a prostitute to come the strip house, to masturbate him in the way he likes, then throw the whore a penny or two, considered "love"?

Is the perv a lover? or just a perv looking to masturbate his private parts?

Before answering; I know: stupid questions require a  stupid example.
Acting a fool is worse.

Love is not a virtue. Anybody can love; even sharks. Even beasts. And even the perv; who loves the certain ways that bring him orgasm.

Logical thinking is a virtue.

Neither is forfeiting a belief you know deep inside to be true because of the obligations it brings, the desire that it opposes, and the perception of the self it disgraces.

Who is doing that? Name names, please.

I'm still a fan of polygraph exams for anyone wanting to be a TV preacher to make sure they have some discernable sincerely held beliefs that are not centered on Mammon (unless they want to openly shill for Mammon, of course)
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Interesting article. I think it probably happens more often that you think but you don' hear about it because the priests just end up pretending they believe in God to keep their jobs.

So many of them reach the conclusion they no longer believe yet still remain in the profession only to further lead others into believing that which is clearly false.

That confirms it.  It's horseshit.
