And fearing hell is a virtue since it's a place of distance to God.
And indeed the great hope should be love for God and love for God, and greatest fear should be to have hate towards God and hate from God.
May God guide us in the ways that lead to the balanced love we are meant to have, where our love is not mixed with dark intentions but is sincerely for the sake of God. Amen
Do you even know what the word 'virtue' means?
It means having high moral standards. Those with high moral standards need no punishment nor reward to be good. They only need to be good. Those who do good because some invisible sky wizard tells them to or he will punish them does not have very high moral standards.

I'm still a fan of polygraph exams for anyone wanting to be a TV preacher to make sure they have some discernable sincerely held beliefs that are not centered on Mammon (unless they want to openly shill for Mammon, of course)

Interesting article. I think it probably happens more often that you think but you don' hear about it because the priests just end up pretending they believe in God to keep their jobs.

So many of them reach the conclusion they no longer believe yet still remain in the profession only to further lead others into believing that which is clearly false.

That confirms it. It's horseshit.
