This is a video taken by the same user as the video in the the original post but this time he claims that it is the virgin Mary!

I think that this guy must simply go around looking for strange shadows and then put them on youtube claiming all sorts.

I must admit that I can't make anything out in this one but perhaps Psalm23 can help us out here as he seems to be in the know.

It took me about 5 seconds to 'see' the face. Even if it is somone appearing, why does it have to be of Mary? Why not my dead Grandma or someone from another planet or dimension? I'm kidding of course...

Atheists claim, "Jesus is an illusion of the mind." But how can he be an illusion of a cell phone video camera?

Any cell phone capable of interpreting its camera pictures is welcome to join this thread and comment about it. That would be most entertaining.

As for now, we may assume that all interpretation of images is done in human minds not in the camera. From science we know that human minds are good at pattern recognition and have specialised faculties for face recognition, so good even that the human mind tends to see faces even in places where there aren't any as you have clearly demonstrated. As any kid, who has ever been afraid in the dark, knows.

Furthermore the suggestion that this all-mighty all-knowing god would reveil himself through out of focus cell phone pictures of a streetside tree may be regarded as intellectual insult to most believers I know.

Actually Chatpilot, Jesus wasn't lying. He was refering to his transfiguration. This was a little 'preview' as well as an endorsement of his future glory which he will have when he returns to establish his kingdom.

No... He was refering to the "Kingdom of God", just as it states.

Any other passage where Jesus refers to the kingdom of God he is talking about heaven.

And Mark 9:1 hints at nothing of Kingdom of God meaning the 'transfiguration'. Matter of fact it eludes more to the "kingdom of God" (heaven) coming to the earth. "Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power." After that it speaks of his clothes turning white, a talking cloud looming overhead and some lessons from Jesus about cutting your hand off and plucking out your eye.

I maintain 'Kingdom of God" does NOT refer to white robes and talking clouds. It refers to (as it does everywhere else in the Bible) heaven. And since they will seeing it 'coming' that particular passage means God will be bringing paradise to earth and they will see it before they die.

Yes, it is a matter of interpretation. Let's assume the whole 'Jesus Story' was made up. The people who were relaying (making up) these 'events' would surely not portray their 'god' as a liar? I have no problem with interpreting the transfiguration as a display of the coming Kingdom and its glory. Jesus had not yet died etc and another telling thing about the transfiguration 'story' is that Moses and Elijah 'appeared' with Jesus, which to mean is foretelling the resurrection, but I may be wrong. The whole thing may be rubbish but when I read the New Testament and particularly Jesus' words, there is nothing to indicate to me that he was a liar.

Bozo, I would be very intrigued if you claimed that JC had 'found you'. I would ask you all about it and I would understand that if this was real to you, then you would be bound to be affected by it and therefore act upon it. I have not had any kind of 'experience' so I am skeptical that these happen, but I certainly wouldn't reject out of hand what you were saying.

Dotard, 'the Kingdom of God' is a weighty topic of itself and a careful analysis of the NT shows that many things had to occur BEFORE the Kingdom of God becomes a reality ie a physical government with Jesus as the ruler. Lots of things had to happen via the Romans, the times of the Gentiles had to run their course, and the good news has to be preached in ALL THE NATIONS, which of course hadn't happened in the 1st Century. But you are entitled to your interpretation, as I am mine. I see no liar.
