Yes.

In fact, it is clear that Paul and the other disciples believed that the World was flat, like a pancake.  This is one of the many reasons why the Roman aristocracy ignored them.

So if I took you and put you in Paul world with nothing more than the cloths on your back you'd be running the planet as a God inside two weeks?

Or would you die of starvation because you do not know any of the basics of survival or would not even know how to beg?

A true measure of intelligence is not based on just pointless facts. It is the ability to live if not thrive in any situation based on one's ability to learn and adapt.

How stupid would you be in 1 century wearing you modern cloths and shoes (putting people off just by the sight of you) spouting out how smart you are in a language no one has ever heard, dying in 3 days of thirst, because you do not know how to tap the natural water supply nor can you communicate well enough to ask someone for help..

That said you are right the earth is round... Dodgy

500 people saw me turn into a mist to enter my car through a crack in the window this morning before I came to work.

I can confirm the truth of this because I invented that story about Mister Agenda just yesterday.

Look at your own life and where it relates to Christianity.

You doubted something, Got nothing from God. Had no one to help you understand, you left.

Do you really truly think you are so much smarter than those who lived 2000 years ago?

Well, SOME of us are...

I can promise you they went through the same thing, but something stopped them. either a brother in the faith or God Himself.

No one will hang around a dead religion. that is what your experienced has taught you.

That is why Christian as lasted as long as it has. It was not dead. Seeing Christ is not enough to sustain belief for a life time. it take daily reminders to establish and maintain proper belief.

That, and it was enforced at the point of a sword.
And, seeing someone who was killed and came back to life won't stick with you for a lifetime?!  It would me.  That's another big strike against believing.  If you really believed it happened, if you have such a close relationship with Jesus, why would you ever lose that belief?  Believers believe in belief, not that they really think these things happened.  The act of believing is what makes them feel good.

Your version of Christianity did not support this so you like everyone else who needs support walks away, because they do not have what they were promised.

And others just make up a new sect to avoid all those pesky thing they don't want to believe or do.

You may no know the basics of survival, but many do.  And as far as the last paragraph, you're a babbling idiot.

Quote:Furthermore, the Gospels and Acts never state that Jesus appeared to a joined crowd of 500 people after the resurrection. This is all very strange if there was an early tradition of Jesus appearing to a joined crowd of 500 witnesses. The author of Luke and Acts, heavily influenced by Paul, reports nothing about this event, even when he is covering the very period in which this alleged crowd appearance would have occurred. In addition, we do not even know what this appearance would have even looked like. I mean, was there an amphitheater of 500 people and then Jesus jumped up on a stage and said, “Here I am!”, before everyone? Furthermore, how would the crowd even know what Jesus looked like? This is in an age before photographs or even eyeglasses. It’s not like people knew ancient faces the same way that we recognize celebrities today, when there was no media and visual culture to popularize a specific set of features. And yet even today people have claimed to have seen recognizable celebrities like Elvis Presley post-mortem. The situation with Jesus is exponentially worse.

Translation = "its bullshit."

I think Apostle Paul and Joseph Smith would have much to talk about.

Nope, he could have heard that number used by the Romans.

Yes Drich, we are smarter, we have a space telescope. We use computers, we put humans on the moon, we use cell phones. Even you are smarter than the writers, but for say you are still stuck on their bad claims.

None of the NT writers, not even Muslims or Jews or Buddhists or Hindus had any of our modern knowledge. Nobody knew what an electron, proton or neutron were back then. Nobody knew what DNA was back then.

I am sorry someone sold you an old book of myth Drich, but that was then, this is now. It was understandable back then when people wrote those bad claims, and others fell for them, but they didn't know any better back then.

Not 'we' sport you.

Like before. If I took you into Paul's world and left you there with nothing more than the cloths on your back could you survive?

Again intelligence is not about trivial facts of what 'we' collectively know. Intelligence is the ability to learn and quickly adapt.

Your last statement here, I agree with completely. I think that assuming those in the past where less intelligent is a big mistake. I've seen some machines from the early 1900's which are absolutely brilliant. They had to be, because they had less. Also, in some ways while we do have more information readily available than ever, intelligence may be decreasing, because things are easier.
