While Episode VII was essentially a carbon copy of the original film, I don't see much of an argument that the other 6 were the same movie..

Well, they've blown up three Death Stars in seven movies. If you go with "original three" and the force awakens then it's three death Stars in four movies.

Ponderous fanfare, trapezoidal text crawl, Star destroyer, planet, phew phew phew, spaceship, may the force be with you, phew phew phew, light saber fight, ponderous fanfare.

Sometimes the last phew phew phew and the light saber fight swap places. This the movies are individually unique and to be savored separately.

Yeah, I guess if you ignore 90% of the movies' content then they are pretty much the same.

Darth was for it and was on the Death Star when they blew up Alderan.

Darth was part if it, and was all in until the lase scene where he fought Luke. No polite way to put it.

And he didn't order the planet blown up.

Again, that does not mean shit to me. He was for blowing the planet up, he never objected to it, he was on the Death Star making threats to Princes Lea right before the order was given. Not to mention he murders his own see clips above.

I could care less who ultimately gave the order, Darth was the Empire's top henchman and muscle enforcer. He's like the underboss in a Maffia gang. Him not being the Emperor doesn't change that he workedunder the Emperor and did the murdering for the Empire.  He was party to the genocide of Alderan regardless.

The first three were brilliantly put together as far as special effects, acting, and especially the music. But that plot no, I look back at that plot, find it very disturbing now.

Ok, Darth did not say anything but also did nothing, he was the one who cought Lea, and here he is as the planet gets blown up. There is  standing by saying nothing as the order is given.

Well, more than that we know very well he would have force choked saber-smited anyone who tried to stop its destruction.  But regardless he still gets to stand with the others in the force-filled afterlife fully chagrined by his 'dark period'.

And it's been established that Tarkin doesn't take orders from him.

Which is why it is good that this is only a movie. In real life we punish genocidal maniacs. Or I should say, we try.

It really does unfortunately smack of biblical principles. Nobody holds him to account because all he had to say was "oops, my fault".
