Do we live in a universe where theism is likely true? (video)

Second, it isn't liquid water like on the surface. It's water molecules trapped inside rock. If the ringwoodite's pressure drop fast enough to release the H2O molecules you'd get caustic chemicals, not pure water.

Yes, I would agree.

Anything, if one convinces himself enough, could be true. However, I would rather only believe it to be true if there was sufficient evidence to support it as true.

Asserting the Jesus of your faith is looking out over a universe with a billion galaxies in it and yet all torqued off I'm sticking my hand up "Steve from Montreal's" butthole seems to be a variety of blasphemy worthy of quite a stint in the eternal lake of fire . . .

And of course, everything that exists in our natural, physical world had to have come from somewhere. Things in our world don't make themselves from nothing, and they all have a beginning. Belief in a spiritual, supernatural world that isn't bound by the laws of our physical natural world (including the laws of time) allows for the possibility that a force that has always existed was responsible for the very first spec of "thing" that would eventually become our universe.

I'm pretty sure that the God idea was probably made for the express purpose of stopping people doing stuff like that.  People have to learn to respect that some doors are "in" doors, and some doors are "out" doors.

yet "Steve" enjoys a continuous anal O from my ministrations courtesy the design work of that same god . . .

It seems premature to assert they all had a beginning when we've never observed matter and energy do anything but transform...except for virtual particles, which seem to be completely spontaneous, not very supportive of the conclusion you want to reach. Evidence points to all the matter and energy in the universe once having been in a very hot, dense state. We do not know yet what preceded that hot dense state, or even if 'preceded' is meaningful considering time started in our cosmos when that hot dense point started expanding. All the matter and energy in the universe having always existed in some form or another is a distinct possibility that we have not eliminated yet, but they have definitely always existed in our cosmos and since that's from when time began, you have to go 'before time' to find a time when all the matter and the universe even possibly might not have existed.

Don't trust your intuitions when it comes to cosmology and quantum physics. Our brain did not evolve to function on those levels.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

There is no proof that matter and energy have always existed and have no beginning (just as there is no proof of god). As far as we know, matter and energy come from somewhere, and are effected by time.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
