Yes, and yes. Big Grin

I don't really plan to make it sequel, per se. It depends on its success, but I've definitely left it open for a full series.

And -- wow! -- I didn't know you wrote children's books too.

I've written three (I haven't edited the third), have two short story collections in the works, am researching another novel, and I published a novella for a contest a year or so ago. Oh, I also have a historical-fiction novel that I'm researching at the moment. I like to have something I'm in the mood for available all the time. I can't stick to one project unless it grabs me. Tori's book did.

I didn't write children's books. It was never my plan. My niece is persistent as hell, and I enjoyed writing it way more than I anticipated.

You have a blog, right? What is it?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Oh, god. I have quite a few blogs. I have an author website with a horribly inactive blog, a Haunted New England Blog (no, I don't believe in ghosts), a bizarre stuff blog, animals, weather phenomenon and one for people with OCD.

What's the OCD one? Sounds interesting.

...or do you not wanna post it here?

I don't mind. Some of it's just my personal blog about my experiences, but I didn't put it out there to be secretive about it. lol

I used to struggle hugely with intrusive thoughts.

For me personally tackling them introspectively or trying to be mindful never worked... distracting myself with external things helped and now my O.C.D. is finally under control. It only gets bad when I'm super stressed out now.

But of course, everyone should take whatever approach works for them. People reportedly say mindfulness and therapy or other techniques can help treat their O.C.D. successfully, for example.

Hmmm . . .

Should I propose a character based on me for Shell's next children's book ??

Oh, that wouldn't be too hard. Nothing wrong with a gay farmer in a kid's story. I'll just leave out the details. Tongue

a little kid character in to self inflicted rectal abuse at age 7 might be the next step in our societal evolution . . .

It's probably more common than you would think, but I'm not about to share that message. Tongue
