What is your favorite BBC show?

RE: What is your favorite BBC show?
I really enjoyed The Brittas Empire, but sometimes the humor got pretty extreme, people dying or being hideously injured for laughs.

I have picked three shows to watch. One from your lists and the other two from perusing a list of BBC shows.

Psychoville

The internet has ruined me.

...because nowadays I can't see "BBC" without thinking of something A69-related.

Yeah lol I love how absurd it got.

Bottom is better though.

If our Vorlon watches Bottom and doesn't like it then the universe as we know it will implode.

Dark humour is like dark chocolate. Not to everyone's taste.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Those are all great, but frankly, they don't have Dinosaurs.

Primeval on the other hand...
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

IMHO that's the best episode of Bottom ever... and it's the only full one on YouTube last time I looked, so that's pretty cool Wink

Most of my favourite shows on the BBC are old comedies, but also like David Attenborough-ish nature programmes like the Blue Planet and Private Life of Plants etc.

But for comedies I could be here all day listing the ones I do or have liked, so I'll just stick with my favourites now...

Bottom
Allo Allo
Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister
The Thick of It (I think that's BBC)
Ab Fab
My Family
One Foot In The Grave
Hancock/Hancock's Half Hour (very old)
Birds Of A Feather
Little Britain (not too fond of the sequel... the airport one)

I think that'll do Wink

Looking back through the thread there's a few I missed... Fawlty Towers, Keeping Up Appearances, Porridge, Blackadder... and many more I'm sure Wink

For me, 'Allo 'Allo is very of its time. I found it hilarious when it was first on, now it's a bit cringey. Like that one uncle who always does his only impression at family gatherings, no matter how much you try to stop him... Shifty

That's why I am usually reticent about watching older shows. Those shows might have been good for their time, but modern viewers find them rather silly and unwatchable.
