Do you believe in "Fate"?

RE: Do you believe in "Fate"?
I fucked up by getting mixed up between threads Sad

If our will isn't free then our choices aren't free as they are determined by our will. So there is no ultimate moral responsibility.

By "ultimate" you mean responsibility for Gods perspective right because you couldn't mean us as we could never have such knowledge. Our will is only determined because we mechanically follow as we have to. We are free agents - nothing internal stops us from making the choices dictated to us by our wills.

In regards to fate, is it our fate to die?

What do you mean? And the difficulty or lack of difficulty of the matter doesn't change the truth of it.

I mean, it is easier to take no responsibility.

Since our wills are the part of us that make our choices that is trivially true by definition, a tautology. The choices we make that are - in other words - chosen by our "will" are completely effected by the fact that our wills are influenced massively by our genetics and the environment, plenty of external factors influence our "internal" will.

If you believe in fate then I assume that means everything that is going to happen is fated?

Unless you believe only some things are fated and others are not? Partial belief in fate? Which would be an odd belief. Belief in fate is an odd belief anyway as far as I'm concerned though.

Not everything. But some things are, yes. You cannot put everthing into one basket, then assume it is the truth.
