A good amount of latino voters are populists. It's not strength they see in the man..though it is, apparently, a man they see in the man, as support for trump specifically is in the toilet in the latino demographic outside of the male latino vote - and most of that from people who resent being thought of as immigrants, having been here for 100 years or more. Minority voters, not just latino voters, have always had to contend with white supremacy regardless. They don't get the luxury of choosing a candidate that won't or doesn't center the white supremacist vote.
You know, real america and real americans, heartland shit. That's why the marketing about dems being godless commie heathens works so well. A racist republican populist is better than a racist democrat atheist, conceptually, to the parishioners of our lady of blinding irony who very much want a piece of the american dream. That populism is just one of the ways that magats are to the left of mainstream dems and pre-trump republicans. We're talking about people who love the expanded child tax credit. People who strongly support the the affordable care act (so long as you don't tell them it's obamacare, lol), people who definitely want free childcare, and..speaking of the children, people who absolutely -don't- want to have to take every unintentional child to term. People who aren't concerned that there's a welfare state, but that the wrong people are benefitting from it - specifically..not them...despite them being on welfare, ofc. Magatism is a racist reappropriation of typically left wing themes - an excuse for all the bobbleheads to admit they like the shit rush and mitch told them they had to hate. People who feel they are being discriminated against, having their rights abrogated, being stigmatized and denied their pride, who've suffered a loss of self esteem, and fear racial elimination. The strongest correlation between the jan 6 rinsurgents, for example..wasn't economic, wasn't education, wasn't county politics. Relatively wealthy business owners and white collar pros from deep blue suburbs....who were living in an area where the local share of non hispanic caucasians was declining. These are not...typically..things that motivated american conservatism pre trump. It's not a uniquely american case, either. People whose countries have been much further to the left than the US for quite some time appear to be susceptible to the same message. Hence the rise of global reich wing populism.

I really don't think I am going to listen to someone in a basement in Canada declaring how Hispanics think where Trump is concerned.
Move down here to TX and meet a few Hispanics living in the US. Quite a few, actually. And as for thinking they are white. There are a large number of Hispanics here who do not even interact with Americans any more than they have to. They don't make friends with them, they don't speak the language...they remain Mexican to the core. Former President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he would hold a news conference on Jan. 6, one year after the deadly riots at the U.S. Capitol, which the Republican has been accused of fomenting.
Trump said he will discuss the events of that day, in which rioters marched to the Capitol after hearing him speak outside the White House.
