You’re missing the same point Trump is: it doesn’t matter if the documents are declassified. Presidential records are not the property of a former president.
And I seem to remember Manning going to prison for what she did.

Yeah not the same
1. Chelsea Manning was a whistle-blower who exposed some legitimately fucked up stuff. Donald Trump is a corrupt self-serving idiot who can give no valid reason why he kept those documents after he left office and lied multiple times about returning them.
2. We have no evidence he declassified them.
3. Trump has no right to retain those documents even if he declassified them.
4. The crimes he's charged with render declassification a moot point as these are crimes about illegal retainment, destruction, and deception.
5. Chelsea Manning was also sent to jail for what she did (rightly so despite doing the right thing)

Then your point is not a point and he raised a much better point.
One was a seemingly well-meaning whistleblower who wanted to uncover corruption the other is a corrupt egomaniac who to date has not given a good reason why he still documents and why he's constantly lied about having them. There is a clear difference in motivation for the act even if both broke the law, And to date only one's been punished for it.

You're the one who brought up the classification thing. But - as has been pointed out to you - Chelsea Manning stole documents in an attempt to expose wrongdoing, while Trump's motivation is less clear. They both stole government documents, but it's hardly the same thing.
Like it or not, motive matters.
