Jesus already came (at lest for some)

For Christians prophecies were always unimportant technicalities because then even their Jesus would be fake messiah considering that OT prophecies of the messiah's arrival would usher in: the end of sin, the end of suffering, peace and tranquility, one creed and one religion, the resurrection of the dead, the gathering of the ten tribes under a Davidic king, building of the future temple etc.  none of that happened and yet do I need to remind you how many people, including yourself, think this Jesus was indeed messiah prophesied by OT.

Why do you guys insists on proclaiming your ignorance when it comes to scripture?

Quote:Daniel 9
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

The scripture clearly states the Messiah would be cut off, this means those prophecies you mentioned have still yet to be completed, which will happen during his second coming.

Which was suppose to happen about 2000 years ago. Oops, shit didn't happen, lets insert our unfounded corrections.

Retconning; serving to re-write, re-invigorate, renew, replenish and remodel Christianity when needed (and sometimes when it wasn't) for 2000 years.

And a BONUS !!!! Retconning is a BIG driver in fostering schisms too!!! Praise Jesus and let's schism again in His NAME !!!!!!
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Pretty standard for a religious economy.  Churches, by virtue of their nature, serve the interests of the middle and upper social castes, but fail to deliver on the needs of the lowest - thus initiating a schism, a sect does satisfy those lower class needs but if it is successful it -becomes- a church and then fails for the same reason as before, initiating another schism.

Think of it like a diner.  If it's successful that drives prices up but does increase the quality of the fare for those that can afford it.  Those that cannot represent a demand and someone will satisfy it with a new all you can eat $10 buffet.

OT god was great for the priests, and for the ruling caste, but he left the poor huddled massed feeling a bit hungry. Thus, christianity. Centuries later The RCC was great for the bishops and the monarchy, but it left the commoners feeling...hungry. Hence Protestantism. Protestantism was great for the ministers and the state administrators...but it left the racist southern rabble feeling.....hungry. Hence S. Baptists.

There's really no bottom to this market until everyone is separated into their own 2 man churches. One to initiate and profit, the other to support. Then, hopefully, those two will get into a disagreement and just beat each other to death with candlesticks since there's no one left to service and nowhere left to go down the hole.

No they are called false Messiahs, and anti-christs, this was foretold in the scriptures. Christ will not have to be announced by anything other than a trumpet blast at His second coming. When He does come everyone will know it, all at the same moment.

We have heard it all before:

We don't understand scripture
We know the truth but love our sins
We don't accept good evidence, because blinded by Satan
We are angry
We believe Evolution/science on faith, we have faith too
We have a real relationship with the living God, you just don't A/S/K sincerely.

Just call us liars, you know you fucking want to.

I just posted the scripture where it stated that the Messiah would be CUT OFF...

But you're going to sit here and pretend the Bible says no such thing. how about you provide scripture that supports your theory that those prophecies were suppose to be completed during his first coming.

Exactly, there's strong scriptural precedent for "god" being the kind of fuckup that can't get things done -or- done right the first go round. Y'all are being unfair in your expectations of a divine underachiever.

Well he/she is superb at being silent to the people that could really make a mark. For sure, most of the world believes in different Gods, or different variations thereof. But, for shits and giggles, the ONE TRUE GOD, who has all his powers would trivially be able to show the non-conformists of his reality.

I'd love to know, but all we get here is Kalam phase 2, objective morality, evolution is poo, you don't read the book right and I personally really believe it to the point I will say that it's true.

And then we are always at fault for asking for more..

If I am wrong, I want to know. The piss poor level of discourse from the theist here ain't helping!!

And I am diagnosed mentally ill, should be an easy mark, cos' they normally like us occasional delusional fuckers. I would hate to say that they prey on us.....
