Anyone see gods not dead?

RE: Anyone see gods not dead?
Given the general level of what passes for intelligence among religitards they really do have to keep it very simple for them.  Some of the dumbest asses I've ever seen around here are the ones who can't go a minute without fucking jesus escaping from their lips.

I'm sure some of them will be around shortly to insist that the movie get an Academy Award or something.

No, just an even more successful sequel and a third one on the way, presumably.

If there was ever anything to outright declare war on non-believers, it's a piece of propaganda like this. Basically flat-out saying that not a one of us is human and all deserving to die, and horribly at that. Every goddamn fucking one of the people involved in that film should be fucking committed and psychoanalyzed til they fix that fucking defect because it's unbelievably fucking dangerous, and horrifying, knowing people legitimately believe this pigshit.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

I watched this movie called god's not dead and wow I have never seen a movie so openly shitting on the idea of Atheism

All the atheists in this movie were shitty people

I'll spoil the movie for you, because it's not even worth the 3 dollars on Amazon

The movie is basically about an Atheist teacher who has this die hard Christian try to prove God exist. He talks to the class a few times and gives stupid and illogical reasons god is real.

Eventually the Atheist teacher gets hit by a car (shortly after he thinks God might be real) and someone gets out of the car. The guy says all this shit while the guys dying saying "It's a gift. That car could have killed you immediately" and "Do you accept Jesus?"

Seriously? I used to be Christian but even I wasn't this messed up.

It scares me that there's Christians out there that actually made this movie and think this crazy crap

At one point in the movie this muslim girls dad found her Ipod and she was apparently listening to scripture or something and starts beating her up.

You shouldn't see this movie.. it's a waste of time (they even made a second movie)

If you haven't seen it though just google the trailer, because it's hilarious

You are not going to find very many lead characters or "heros" in western media that paint atheists as the god guy.

Sheldon from TBBT is the closest in comedy. "The Ledge" staring Liv Tylor is a movie about a lady who has an affair with an atheist . She sympathizes with him and becomes a confidant eventually rejecting her right wing husband. The atheist ends up on a skyscraper ledge due to the kidnapping of the fundy husband, the atheist is forced to choose between letting the kidnapping victim die, or jumping to save them.

Certainly not a big budget film but Liv is the daughter of the famed rock star of Areosmith.

Yeah, atheists, at best, are depicted as people who tend to be overly critical, close minded, morally suspect, and perhaps even cowardly. Those with faith are depicted as being virtuous, kind, and, most importantly, correct because "not everything can be explained by science" (*puke*).

The "God's Not Dead" franchise is nothing more than evangelical propaganda. The movies create these caricatures of atheists based on what evangelicals think we are for the sole purpose of beating them down. It doesn't matter that their portrayals of atheists are embarrassingly, insultingly incorrect... these films are designed to preach to the choir, to reinforce what these people hear in church and otherwise experience in their culture.

What I find interesting is how they bank, literally, on the Christian persecution complex. Christianity is still the dominant religious force in America by far, yet these movies make it seem like Christianity in America (and thus the foundation of American culture, lmfao) is teetering on the brink. It would be hilarious if so many people didn't actually swallow that tripe.

Nope.

I utterly refuse to see these propaganda movies.

You'd have to pay me a LOT of money to watch that kind of crap.

Substitute any ethnic group in there for atheists, and the filmmakers would be having advocacy groups tearing their fucking doors down and storming their studio with pitchforks and torches. But no, they've managed to make us the most reviled minority across the fucking board so it never even occurs to people that this is practically a modern, ideology-swapped Nazi call to arms against the Jews (among other 'undesirables') before the Holocaust. Religion. Poisons. Everything.

It's so bad that shown to anyone but fundamentalist evangelicals, it makes Christians look worse than any other group portrayed in the movie; because anyone not a fundamentalist can see what a self-serving hatchet job it is.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

The Man From Earth portrays Jesus as an Atheist.

But yeah, there's not that many truly positive portrayals of atheists.

God's Not Dead is simply drivel written to appeal to Christians who feel the need to feel persecuted (mostly because their bible tells them to).  The film would have been a better propaganda piece if they simply had the professor being a trickster mentor who wanted the main character to stand up for himself.   I mean at least then it would have made sense.  You could remove a lot of the other plots, and just make it about a Professor who wants to challenge his students and see if they'll stand up for what they believe in, or just give up because the professor has all the power.

But they can't do that because then they'd be portraying colleges in a positive manner, and can't have people wanting to get educated!  Not without Jesus.

I saw it with some atheist buddies.

And a lot of booze.

We laughed our asses off and in the end sent 'God's not dead' to our atheist friends, as instructed by the film.

It was amusing, it's all a matter of mindset.

I would think not.

That'd be quite the contradiction.
