That is the downside. Parsons has said himself in real life interviews he is not into science. But that is why you have script writers. That is one thing about him I don't admire. I am not saying that everyone has to be Hawking, but science is still something that should be valued, and give every kid at the youngest age at a minimum, a very decent general understanding.

TBBT, I am sure has, and will continue to inspire young viewers into getting into science.

Mayim Bialik is far better because you know, she actually is a qualified scientist.

Also if kaley Cuoco is up to it, she would be a better host-interviewer with Mayim Bialik both because of her role as the exact opposite on the show, and because despite her role, the actress herself seems intelligent enough to form two thought at the same time.

Sheldon's mom, "And that is your opinion"......

Cringe worthy but still funny. I still love it because it open the door in pop media for skeptics to feel more comfortable being open skeptics.

And his mom's way of getting Sheldon back to Caltech after Sheldon embarrassed himself by publishing research based on falsified data is to imply he would be teaching evolution to creationists if he didn't.

Yep, you don't have to like or agree with the character's theism, but with many parents in real life, the good ones at least, they know how to get you to do the right thing.
I know as much as my mom and I disagreed on politics and religion, she kept me in line, not always in the way I wish she would have, but she knew me better than anyone else in the world.
She did the same think in another episode getting Sheldon to go back to dating Amy by using reverse psychology. I loved that episode too.

So TBBT ended. Did anyone watch the last episode? It wasn't a bad episode but as a last episode it was a miss. I mean don't they usually end the story in the last episode? Usually it goes that characters separate or go away like in "Seinfeld" they went to prison, but here nothing happened - they could easily make another season.

I mean are viewers today so emotionally sensitive that they were afraid to disrupt the characters?

Actually, they could have made another season, but Parsons said he didn't want to do it any more, and the producers didn't want to do it without Parsons.

I'm not convinced that 'ending the story' is all that common in episodic television.  I think the majority of shows just sort of wind down and whither away.

The whole point of the story was to show how these odd people made their own little family together.  There was the threat of Raj leaving for London in a previous episode, but that was overcome.  The end shot of the last episode was to show they were all closer than ever.
