Well, even assuming, as you do, that whatever a person does accomplishes very little it;s still not nothing...and if a palace is built inch by inch or foot by foot we still end up with a palace.  I understand why you see vast futility in life.  I only suggest that there i a failure of the long view in such an appraisal.  

We don;t -need- heroes fighting great villains in decisive victories....it;s enough that marginally decent people prevent tiny inequities again and again, over time. You don't win a war, ultimately, by routing the enemy in a single day, but by taking inches of his land year over year. Or, at least, this is a far more reasonable and inexorable strategy of victory.

I want the the white supremacists to lose...and while it would be nice to decapitate them myself, in my own lifetime..is this a reasonable expectation? Probably not. Will taking what they call "theirs" millimtere by millimtere over generations somehow -not- yield the same outcome? According to who?  And why?  Maybe we should take this same "do nothing" approach to Isis as well.  I mean, after all...interfering with a dangerous group of people who perpetuate hate, and spawn crimes against humanity may lead to the risk of escalating violence.
