Welcome aboard, aint much to learn - shouldn't take you more than a few minutes.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

He should have it already. There is no evidence for any of the gods invented by the human imagination.

Welcome. I too originally joined this forum because I was curious about the atheists perspective on things. I've definitely learned a lot, and this was the right place for it. Be respectful, and others will respect you too.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Basically there is not much you need to know.
1. We are diverse, we don't always agree with each other.
2. We come from all classes, we hold a variety of political and economic views, and we have left all the world's major religions. We come in all skin tones.
3. "Atheist" merely means "off" on God/god/s/deity claims, nothing more. We don't eat babies or barbecue kittens. If you want to know what an atheist thinks about a topic, don't assume we all believe the same thing, ask the individual.
One thing i have come to understand, particularly with respect to atheists (who i have been around for a very long time) is that no two atheists are the same. While there are similarities, common points of references generally speaking, they are a more diverse group than any other.
Furthermore, even though they may not believe in objective morality, or certain theistic conceptions of what is moral or not, it does not necessarily mean they do not have a moral compass; i believe morality to a certain extent is part of the nature of a human - though you may argue we have evolved to have some of these moral traits as it is advantageous to our survival.
Actually this is an incredibly pernicious misconception; your moral compass is your own, not god-derived. We all know this, it's the theists who haven't figured this out about themselves yet. This is beyond dispute, just so you're aware, if you were going to attempt to debate this. I'm sure if you're here and not committing acts of violence, you've rejected the bits of your mythology that don't jive with being peaceful. That means you're not getting your morals from scripture. Not too hard to put together. Be proud of yourself that you've broken that mold, but please, don't ever bring this up again, it's just going to embarrass you. This is probably the nicest I'll be to you on here, so drink it in.
Another note, please be genuine in what you say, hypocrisy and double-talk (double standards, special pleading) are not a good way to generate positive conversations. If you can't defend your beliefs without doing so, maybe question why that is, and what that says about faith when it has to be so disingenuous and dishonest. Since inevitably all faith falls to this, this will likely be nigh-impossible to avoid, so don't refuse to own up to it when you're called out on it, that's super irritating.
Other than that, just don't make hasty generalizations or spout bigotry and maybe I won't be too rough with ya.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
---
There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.
