FYI @ Porcupine the word/derogatory label "bigotry" makes zero sense. For example, if you're a Democrat who thinks people shouldn't vote Republican, you're a bigot, or if you think murderers/rapists/pedophiles shouldn't commit murder/rape/pedophilia, you're a bigot. Oh, you might say, but bigots have to be unreasonable - well then, I ask you, who is the judge of that which is unreasonable. Bigotry as a label can go fuck itself (pun intended).

The fact you immediately compare those things to Muslims is a red flag. If unreasonable is simply an opinion then your proclaiming anything to be reasonable which means comment can simply be dismissed as unreasonable .

Just because a label is subjective doesn't mean it doesn't have utility for subjects.

That's alright, then. I guess the answer to "Does anybody else find this bigoted?" was "no", then. Seemed like it was pointing at individuals in order to generalize certain undesirable characteristics to a whole group, to me. Which would be bigotry. But maybe that isn't what was being done. Knowing the intention of others is not my specialty. I just go by my own interpretations just like everybody else does.

The similarities between the hardliners in the abrahamic faiths outweigh the differences. I predict that by the end of the century, fundamentalist muslims, jews and christians will formally ally just like the fundagelocals and the opus dei crowd in the US. And for the same reason, a rapidly eroding position and base of believers.

Actually men aren't allowed to use violence to get sex . If they do she's allowed to take him to court . Now many Muslim nations don't follow this but it's there .
