Some wiggle/weasel thoughts on how to make it work:
hog heart has to be removed upon death
maybe keep old heart for re-installation upon death
hogs have cloven hooves, just not cud chewing, so less sinful than a dog heart
hog heart better than Jew/Zionist heart
keep hog heart surgery secret, don't tell nobody nuthin
lie about what kind of heart you got
blame infidels if 'wrong' kind of heart gets installed
write a check to whomever is making the biggest fuss
behead anyone that is causing a ruckus about it
be extremely over the top about opposing the practice after secretly getting hog heart

Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Not in this century.
I don't think we can afford to think like that, certainly the middle east is still stuck too much in the past, but humans did manage to ditch slavery and women can vote. I wouldn't be so quick to say the East cannot change. It may change at a slower pace, but Morocco and Turkey while they still have their own baggage, are not as far back as Iran or Saudi Arabia.
Nada stood up to Iran's leader, yes she died for it. Malala almost died standing up to dark age thinking. Ayaan Hirsi Ali managed to escape Islam. There are people in that part of the world that do want change.

They'll never change, is the fear the right wing sells. I certainly value challenging political Islam and any holy writing used as a weapon. But I do value my species ability to change as per the examples above. We can't abandon those who do want change because of the actions of others.
