KABUL, Afghanistan — An armed mob that included relatives of a young woman who had eloped with her lover stormed a police station holding the couple in eastern Afghanistan over the weekend, then dragged the lovers off and killed them, officials and witnesses said.

Islamic militants in the Philippines have posted a video showing the beheading of a German hostage.

Juergen Kantner was abducted from his yacht off Malaysia's Sabah state in November. His companion Sabine Merz's body was later found on the boat.

A deadline for a 30m peso (£483,000; $600,000) ransom expired on Sunday.

Mr Kantner, 70, and Ms Merz had been abducted before. They were held for 52 days in 2008 by Somali pirates and were released after a ransom was paid.

The video, reported by the SITE militancy-monitoring group, shows Mr Kantner being killed by a knife-wielding man.

Government envoy Jesus Dureza confirmed the killing.

"Up to the last moment, many sectors, including the armed forces, exhausted all efforts to save his life. We all tried our best but to no avail," he said.

Abu Sayyaf is one of the smallest and most violent jihadist groups in the southern Philippines, known for its brutality, including beheadings.

It has pledged allegiance to so-called Islamic State and has carried out kidnappings of foreigners and Filipinos.

Some have been released for ransoms but a number are still being held.

When Tanveer Ahmed was sentenced to a minimum of 27 years in jail for murder last August, Judge Lady Rae said he had committed a "brutal, barbaric and horrific crime".

Ahmed stabbed to death Glasgow shopkeeper Asad Shah - who belonged to the persecuted Ahmadi sect - because he believed he was committing blasphemy by uploading online videos in which he claimed to be a prophet.

But in Pakistan, Ahmed is developing a growing number of supporters who see him as a "defender of Islam" for having killed someone they believed to be disrespecting the Prophet Muhammad.

On Monday evening, about 400 gathered outside his family's home in the city of Mirpur, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir for a rally in his honour. The crowd chanted slogans praising Ahmed as "brave" and "courageous".

One man attending said: "Because of what he did, the whole of Pakistan knows who he is."

Courts mean nothing. Judges also mean nothing if the sentenced person doesn't agree. In other words; compulsion is not allowed.

-A court that orders the killing of a homosexual is obsolete if the gay person doesn't agree on the sentence.
-A court that orders the killing of a blasphemer is obsolete; if the blasphemer doesn't agree on the sentence.
-A court that allows a husband to beat his wife is obsolete; if the wife doesn't agree on the sentence.
-... so on ; with any controversial sentence...

It is only legal if the convict agrees on the legitimacy of the court in the first place. 

But in crimes like:
-Murder
-Theft 
-Rape
-...so on...-
Vengeance is sentenced usually, and courts almost everywhere in the world force the sentence on the convict, sometimes execution is the hammer fallen on the convict, many execute by locking the convict in a concrete box for long years, some prefer to cut the hand of the convict, or lash him 100 times.

In a Muslim society, the people by the right of freedom God gave to humanity, have the right to rule and judge by the heavenly constitution called "the Quran".

It has a set of sentences that include:
-Cutting the hand of the thief
-Treating the eye for an eye
-Lashing people who have sex without a legal contract called "marriage" with a 100 lashes. Bastards everywhere ruin society and raise crime rates; also kids without parents end up like Silent Hill 4's Walter. Bareback is better than condom.
-A husband can beat his wife if she beat him; eye for an eye; slap for a slap; but he also has the right to forgive.
-A wife can beat the husband if he beat her; eye for an eye; slap for a slap; but she has the right to forgive.
-...So on ...

Ask Pakistan's government, or Saudi Arabia's government, or Iran's government, or the UAE government, where these disgusting sentences for personal freedom come from. It's the Hadith books which allows such terrible contradictory laws to be taken into consideration.

Nobody rules with the Quran. Track these wicked sentences, they don't exist in the Quran. 
It's the Hadith that is behind this disgusting mentality.

Yes the Quran might say that, in practice though that is not the truth and we can all see it. No person ever hung on charges of heresy, blasphemy, apostasy or homosexuality ever went to the gallows wanting to be put to death. That's complete bollocks.

There is compulsion in a state run by theocratic law, or in immigrant communities in the West where it is pressured to follow the religion, or at least be quiet about it if you don't follow. Period. We can go back and forth about whether that's "authentic" or "true Islam" but that's irrelevant, when it's still the reality millions of people live in across the world.
