Probably because it shows religion up for being the Big Lie. Religionistas often have a problem with children learning science "too early", they're a feared that too big a dose of the truth will harm the children and cause them to abandom the lie.

Well, lets see in Ireland nearly a quarter of a child's primary education is spent teaching the cathechism with whole months taken out for preparing the children for communion and confirmation. And woe betide if you're a parent that doesn't want their child indoctrinated, you'll have to be able to take two hours a day off work to mind your chidren during the indoctrination classes. And then you've got programes like Alive-O a vile set of books which purport to teach English, Irish, Maths and other subjects yet revolve down to the single message "god is great. Bow down and worship him." The catholic church controls over 96% of national schools despite never having putting a penny towards school building, maintenance or staff salaries.

On the original post, wishing death instead of brainwashing on people is pretty messed up.

That being said, I agree that Ken Hamm's kids books, and Creationists views in general, are pretty sick and messed up.

Obey God or die really is their entire central message. And even the kindest versions of Christianity are more like love God or suffer eternally. Very messed up.

In a secular court of law, whether one's actions are considered immoral (wrong) is by intent.
Pretty sure CL doesn't have a bad bone in her body (except maybe the lucky husband's! )
Anyway, that how I see 99.9% of religious people. They are all well meaning good people, you know, just like real normal people! Wow! Who knew!

Who cares if their ideology is different from yours or mine. It's not like they go around holding god hates fags banners!
And you know what, even those good 99% are ashamed of their actions just like we are disgusted with that of the militant atheist trolls that pop in here from time to time.
I though we've moved on from stereotyping huge masses of people.
