Trump doesn't get points from me for caring for his family. He's supposed to.
His real worth can be judged by his depraved indifference to anyone who doesn't stand to benefit him directly.
And fuck Ben Carson.

I can just imagine Trump's take-away from General Silveria's speech: 'Fifty five hundred? Pfft - I draw bigger crowds that that!'
But his take-away should be: this is what leadership looks like. A leader confronts a problem immediately and head-on - s/he doesn't send out a tweet or issue a statement or have a surrogate lie to the press about it. A leader addresses in no uncertain terms what the problem is, what is to be done about it, and what the consequences will be. A leader takes responsibility.
The topic of the general's remarks was racism. The way the topic was addressed should be seen as a lesson in leadership.

LOL I was bit joking with that Carson statement because for a time people did apparently admire how Trump has strong family ties and if you look at it he puts his family first, so if let's say America has a problem with his father being racist then fuck America it's his dad who is more important.
I also just found about this disgusting video in which Trump brags how he didn't help a dying man
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Is trump the sadder news for America, or is the fact that it took this long to find one general not hiding behind “duty” or “following orders”, and willing to go on record being better than trump?
