Catholic priest, Michael Reilly, at St. Joseph By The Sea High School called women “bitches” or “twits,” gay people were called “fags,” some teachers were referred to as “dickheads,” and at one point he threatened to boot a black man “back to the jungle,” and kick a cancer patient “to the fucking curb.”

In one incident, Reilly allegedly insulted an elderly staffer calling her a “Fuck crusty, she’s a vodka-shitting bitch that we don’t need.”

Boston area Catholic church sold to pay sexual abuse victims despite parishioners’ 12-year battle

In 2004, the church was put on a list of about 70 Catholic properties in and around Boston to be sold to help foot the bill to compensate the survivors of widespread sexual abuse by clergy. A year earlier, the archdiocese had agreed to pay $85m to settle almost 550 lawsuits.
The scale of church sexual abuse – and its cover-up – was coming to light thanks to a long investigation by the Boston Globe, recently dramatised in the Oscar-winning film Spotlight. Last year, the paper reported that at least 571 clergy within the archdiocese had been publicly accused of sexually abusing children .
The scandal shook confidence in the church, and exposed how powerful it had become within the Boston establishment. Following the revelations, the proportion of Catholics regularly attending Mass fell and donations to the church dwindled.

Anatrella stoked that furor earlier this year when it was revealed that he told new bishops at a Vatican-sponsored course that they are not obligated to report a suspected abuser to authorities even in countries where the law requires such reporting.

And of course, he was getting diddly with the kids himself.

The problem will end when dummies stop pimping their kids off to the perverts.  Taking kids to a Catholic church is like taking them to a whorehouse and then complaining when they get screwed.  The parents should be prosecuted as well when a priest sexually attacks their children for being accessories to the crime.  They made it possible.

Catholic Church spent $2M on major N.Y. lobbying firms to block child-sex law reform

While a far cry from the millions in lobbying top special interests spend in Albany each year, advocates for child sex abuse survivors say the $2.1 million spent likely represents a worthwhile investment to the Catholic Conference if it can continue to block legislation that would eliminate the statute of limitations on child sex abuse civil cases and open a one-year window to bring lawsuits for victims who can no longer sue under current law.

The Catholic Conference has argued that opening a one-year window to revive old cases could ultimately bankrupt the Church.

They should be bankrupted.  The world would be a much better place!

Church disrupts Georgian rock festival
