It may not be their interpretation that is unreasonable so much as their desire to associate themselves with those who believe as you do.

Just a stranger on the bus?  Wink

I'm entirely certain that he has been...allegorically, that is.  His name was Cletus and he was just trying to find out who his daddy was.

Not sure about his daddy but his mom was a total bitch, according to Jesus that is.

You know who's strangely absent in that story?  The little girls father..the womans mate...breaking jesus' jaw for the double indignity of his comments.

If we went to a physician and he said "Bitch, why should I heal your little girl?" - he'd need a physician. I was -this- close to breaking a doctors arm once just because he respectfully suggested to my wife that he might not be able to do anything for Lahni, that it was beyond his ability.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

But, pro tip, don't bother with scripture.  No one here cares, leastwise not among the ones you're trying to harvest for Jeebus.

As to an afterlife. Well, don't want any. No sugary heaven, no eternal pain. Kinda hoping to go out, simply. Like an old light bubble. In some 100 years or so.

Whereas I hope to live forever in memory and lineage... and through a monument of stone that I build with my own two hands.  One day, all of you will feel the cruel boot of my children on your necks.    Angel
