Supernatural - no.
Supernormal - possibly.
I don't believe in Ghosts for example, but there could be some things that people have experienced, which produce Ghost like effects, but not supernatural, simply unexplained manifestations of normal processes.
As minamalist said... we have a great ability to scare the shit out of ourselves.

So if a supernatural event occurs, than we are wrong about natural laws so we need to find out true natural laws . therefore Supernatural is not and never will be exists.(except the tv series..)
Thank you for that perspective. I never thought of if that way.

It's amazing what one half decent movie can do for someones career, despite making several of the worst movies ever *cough*Daredevil*cough*.
There was a half-way decent movie? I'm sorry, every time I see his face I want to punch him.
The only movie I can tolerate where he makes a major appearance is Dogma, and that's mostly because a divine Alanis Morissette blew his head off.

Atheists can have beliefs in some supernatural, like spirits, ghosts and the like. An atheist is simply one who does not believe in a god. Everything is up for debate (even between atheists). It's just, atheists as a whole tend to reject most, if not all supernatural beliefs. Just as evolution has nothing to do with atheism. It's just that atheists as a whole tend to accept evolution.
Personally, I think any belief in the supernatural is delusional. Lights and noises in the night can easily be rationally explained without having to jump to ghosts and spirits nonsense.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

I would say to you Ace that if atheists believe in anything supernatural (Immaterial) that there would be no contradiction for them to believe there is God who is also supernatural and therefore immaterial....
is it possible for the God of the Bible to reveal knowledge to us in such a way that we could know it for certain?

I didn't say believe in "anything" supernatural. Of course one who believes in god cannot be an atheist. An atheist is one who does not believe in a god. If he/she does, they are theists not atheists.
Atheism is one thing and one thing only. No belief in a god or gods. Everything else is up for debate, even between atheists.
Atheists tend to lack belief in most if not all supernatural beliefs.

When you're skeptical in one area, it usually (and I say "usually") makes you skeptical in other areas as well.
Everyone's fallible though.

I would really like to hear what others think about ghosts, hauntings and things that go bump in the night. I personally have never experienced such phenomenon; although I may have convined myself that I saw or heard something when I was a teenager with a ouija board and an overactive imagination.
Please share your thoughts on this subject. I'm sure it has been discussed to naseum but I am a virgin atheist so would love to know what the general concensus is.
Everything stems from an Epistemology for me, a theory of knowledge and justification. No supernatural events that have ever been proposed to exist come close to satisfying my epistemic standards, nor can my epistemology shown to be false and simultaneously an epistemology that is logically coherent and permits supernatural belief is shown to be true.
how do you know that what you think is right and that your senses are accurate in examining the evidence? where does this standard come from?

I would ask how do you know, that what you know is all there is? My question is how have you come to the conclusion that there is no God? God of the Bible specifically.

Evidence, observation.

I was never religious. I never did believe in god. The main reason was because there is no evidence. There is no credibility and it happens to be extremely improbable. So I have every reason to reject it. I have every reason to lack belief in god. Not one good reason to believe in it.
That is why.
