The best part of atheism for me is having a free Sunday! 

How about you?

It isn't an "ism" it is a mere position, like "off" is to a light switch.

BUT yea, not only not wasting my time swallowing old mythology on Sunday,  but also not having to defend such fiction. But not just Sundays, but also Fridays and Saturdays. There is more than one old book of myth I reject.

Doing whatever I want because there's no guilt trips being thrown my way. Not having to subscribe to any belief that a god or gods exist is so incredibly freeing. 

And it's not about whether or not I can go out and pillage and rob and do all sorts of immoral things. It's about the simple fact that I am free to do things, as I want to, such as volunteering and not having to expect anything in return. I can just help people because I want to - not because there is some end of life reward attached.

I'm free because I don't have to listen to a weekly sales pitch/guilt trip as to why I have to give money to a church that gives false hope and uses false advertising to promote their "business". 

Free of all of that and it's such a wonderful feeling!

Well, the theist always stupidly takes, "I can do what I want" as being "lawlessness" in that there is nothing stopping us from things like murder and rape.

Um no, it just means we are superstition free. Our evolutionary empathy is what keeps us from harming others. We want law too. We refrain from harming others because we don't want to live in a crime infested society. The only difference is we simply don't assign human behaviors good or bad, to superstition.

But yea, the guilt that religion sells is horrible. It is self inflicted emotional blackmail and unhealthy.

OK, this is kinda childish but I enjoy the disbelief-face when I mention it or reply to the belief question in a completely matter of fact way as though I'm saying "Isn't everyone?"

Actually, disbelief is not the right word... it's more like a non-compute-face.

I'm talking about places like Indonesia, Pakistan and Malaysia where blasphemy is a bit of a no-no, but it's happened in secularised places like Oz and Singapore too.

Interestingly, saying "freethinker" gets zero reaction or even mild approval but "atheist" !OMG! (whichever G that might be)... it's like I've just casually mentioned that I accidentally pissed on their mother's grave (after burying her alive).

The best part of atheism is knowing I am onboard with adapting the altitude necessary to overcome the challenges necessary to improve the odds that humanity will have a long term future.
