No, that's not a good come back, it's a low IQ cheap shot. The Bible names who is a fool, and Romans does not pass that judgment to men.

I don't know that I would call it a cheap shot.  However it doesn't surprise me, that a hyper-literal very concrete thinking interpretation was made where the spirit is lost but the letter is followed.

It's not that difficult, but I always wonder how much of this type of thing is on purpose (deceitful) and how much is lack of thinking (foolishness)?

Strange, I have -precisely- the same thoughts about hyper literal interpretations of magic book, where people think some "god" created stuff and then made a shitlist.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

God thinking to himself:

Okay gonna want some light, gimme trees, birds - I've always liked winged stuff .. that's looking pretty good.  Okay, now we need some drama so lets have some pestilence, maybe some childhood leukemia .. oh, and alcoholism.  Oh hell, lets put someone in charge of the dark stuff.  That's better.  Perfect!

It's the first step in the ABCs of becoming a Christian (Admit, Believe, Confess) but I always saw it as a rather unhealthy way to reflect upon one's misdeeds. Personally, I think something like "I made a mistake" or "That was terrible of me to do" is a much more beneficial as it is directed toward the action itself. It doesn't make the assumption: I did a bad thing, therefore I'm a bad person

What does it really even mean?

Admit that I'm capable of moral transgressions? Sure, I'll admit that. But that doesn't mean I am anything, does it?

Does it mean admit that I've commited moral transgressions in the past? I'll admit that too. And while you're at it, I'll probably fail in my moral responsibilities in the future too. I admit it.

Theists: Have I admitted in this post that I'm a sinner? Or is there more to it than that? If so, what's the difference?

Atheists: What do you make of all this "admit you're a sinner" stuff? What do you think motivates it? Is it a good, bad, or ugly way to reflect on moral transgressions?
Sin is a silly word! Hebrew: chattah and Greek: hamartia mean: the errant flight of an arrow flung from a bow without any concern for the harm it may cause self or others. Figuratively mean: wrong way, off course, amiss, miss, etc. These words are about where we are going and not the act. IOW's, go the wrong way and you will probably do something stupid.

There is absolutely no list of “sins” in the entire Bible! Being off your mark in Scripture is; whatever off-target lifestyle is not of faith(noun, the substance of what you trust of God’s word through study); whatever off-target lifestyle is not of God’s righteousness(according to His standard); sexual misconduct. Sexual misconduct is a miss(errant arrow) against(into) yourself(ouch!). You are shooting yourself! You are shooting yourself with the arrows of unwanted relationships, unwanted pregnancies, disease, E.D., etc.

"Confession" just means to acknowledge your debt and come to an agreement with the one you caused harm. We can at least say that we're sorry.

Sin is the worst and most misleading word we could have given hamartia, if you don’t believe me, just ask everyone you know, “What is a sin”, and you will get just as many answers. Why? Because the word “sin” doesn’t mean anything rather, it means whatever you think it means, or say it means, and to as many whom are dumb enough to listen to you! It is a “silly” word.

Hmn, this "sin" shit sounds entirely like that "god" silliness.

RE: Admitting You're a Sinner
The English word "sin" comes from the Latin sinistra which means 'left-hand'. Back in the day, if you were left-handed, you were a sinister person. See how all this silliness started?

A wise man's heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man's heart directs him toward the left. Eccl 10:2 NASB

A “Leftist” is someone who grabs their legs behind their knees and pulls their nose right up to their own ‘okole and rips a big fart and then, breathing it in, straitens up and then, in their own smugness, proceeds to tell you how smart they are. Yet, everything they say, smells and sounds like a fart! And all I can say is, “Dude, would you like a breath mint?!”

Of course, right/right-ness/righteous/righteousness in life is the opposite of hamartia but, the opposite of right-ness is not sinistra/left. Unless, of course, you are a leftist democrat goat! So straighten up and fly right! Ok, I’ll stop.

From this we can begin to see how the whole right(righteous) and left(sin) thingy came into being.

Anyway, today “sin” is a “silly”, “silly” word and has become absolutely meaningless!

While it's fun to talk about words.....it seems rather pointless.

It doesn't matter where the word came from, or that people who didn't speak english.....because english was not even a language yet ......didn't use an english word to describe the concept of taboo or spiritual uncleanliness.

Sins, by any name and in any language, are those things that damage ones soul or ones relationship to the divine. Those things x which, commonly, are thought to incur a retributive punishment by an entity (or by fate)...if they are not somehow cleansed or accounted for. They may correlate to what we consider "wrong"...they may not..but it isn;t on account of their wrongness or the normative effect of religious belief that they are sinful. Nor does it have anything to do with which hand they sign their name with.

Your credibility on this, Hai..is fucking -shot-. You are silly, your comments are meaningless. It is completely unfathomable to accept that a person who has so much as a perfunctory understanding of the concept in general..or of it's place and specific manifestation in judeo-christian mythology could have ever brought themselves to say anything you just posted, even as a joke.

Now that's funny! I, a theist, said the entire concept of "sin" is silly based on the actual words in the autographed languages of the bible. You, an atheist, argue back "religion" and "Judeo-Christian mythology"!
