As a former Staff member I am well aware that in the secret Staff room it's 10% moderating, 5% perspiration, 5% inspiration and 85% happy violent buttsex.

Apparently I'm only there 10% of the time.

I'm on another message board where admins did spy in the PM system.  The one major difficulty with that ODIOUS practice is if you're an admin who does shit like that is you had better be a DAMN good actor and never tip your hand as a result of knowing something you shouldn't.  I am on record behind the curtain here as being absolutely opposed to looking at any PM in the database unless we have an EXTREMELY good reason (threat to the message board existence level or higher) to do so.

We have a thing: keep out of the PM log unless there is a good reason to go there.

One time I was checking if a user was spamming-via-PM, it's a thing, and saw on the logs something that shouldn't. I was playing Mafia at the time and saw a bunch of back and forth messages between 2 players in mafia. My brain immediately knew who were the scum. I had to ask Kitty the game Mod to replace me as it would be unfair. Fortunately no need as I ended up NightKilled and naturally off the game.

So yeah. We avoid going there. Also logs are created whenever an admin reads PM's. So, imagining (not so with the current team) an admin abused its powers, the rest of us would be able to confirm.

The only time I knew of someone reading the PMs was when an actual law was broken, a very long time ago. Most of the time the staff just discusses how to give me extra privileges and special treatment. It's a full-time job.
