Apparently I'm only there 10% of the time.

Ah, but 16% of that 10% you do 72.8% of the work.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Never hire me to do your finances.

I checked that over obsessively for about 10 minutes and STILL managed to come up with a number that didn't add up to 100.

Suffice it to say, numbers aren't my strong point lol.

Yup. I have a screen shot of places that, to my knowledge, the green guys couldn't see.

But the thing is, I alerted staff to what I was seeing because I knew that I shouldn't be seeing that part of the forum.

Of course there are places the greens can't see. Where else would we talk about them?

Well. I've seen what they are doing. But if I tell you, I will have to shoot you. Tongue

For what it's worth - I'm sick of people complaining about what staff does or doesn't do. Not a single one of them - whether they are an admin or a moderator - gets paid to do what they are doing. They volunteer their time. Some work, some don't. Some have kids, some don't. ALL of them have lives outside of this forum and not only do they have real life responsibilities, but they accepted the additional responsibility of helping keep this forum a safe place for everyone.

There are rules here for a reason and if people feel like they are above those rules, then they won't last here for long. Not everyone is going to agree with how things are done here. And to those people - you are welcome to leave and start your own forum and see how difficult it is trying to maintain a large website on your own.

Understand that this is a privately owned space. At the end of the day - if Tiberius wanted to shut all of this down, he very easily could. He puts up with more shit than he should have to and if he wants to enlist the help of volunteers to carry out daily duties that keep this place running smoothly, that is totally his right to do so. None of us here have the right to whine about it. No one is being held here against their will and all are free to leave at any time. If you don't like it - leave. It really is that simple.

There are areas of the forum that are not seen by regular members for logical reasons. It's not really anyone's business what is discussed behind the scenes. We should really leave it at that because threads like these do nothing more than cause problems where there need be none.

OP: I'm imagining some kind of Eyes Wide Shut scenario here.

"Threat to the message board existence"... oh crap... so you know about the violent rebellion to over-throw the current management and turn this into a Theist Forum that I'm organizing with a bunch of other mere blue members? We were so ready, hoarding lynch mob emojis and everything.  Angry Mob

And here I thought the in-thread messaging system was the perfect place for planning that.

I sometimes have that reaction too.  But it has not been set up by Tiberius to be run in the autocratic manner you describe.  He could at any moment change his mind, but then he won't have created what he set out to make.

But I totally agree that mods/admins are volunteers who deserve a lot of appreciation.  I think they do that because they also value making available the kind of forum Tibs wants, one that is as open as possible in terms of freedom of expression but one which doesn't devolve into a lord of the flies shit fest.
