Your hobbies/hobby ideas

RE: Your hobbies/hobby ideas
Dispute resolution, leadership, and mathematics.  To be honest, I'm nothing special in any of these areas, but nevertheless, IMO, they are interesting hobbies/pursuits.

I've started playing the piano recently and it's a lot of fun. I can't read music but I can play songs I've heard in the past.

That's a fun one, Ham. Especially the last minute or two.

Agreed!
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Glad you like it c172 and CL Smile

This one starts dreamy and strange and builds up and up and becomes happy and triumphant:

I'll bet you I've bored you with all mine before:

* walks with the dogs and/or wife;
* gardening
* visiting other gardens
* working out
* reading
* card games, real and online

If you're looking for hobbies that don't require much physical movement (if you're still bed ridden) you could learn to knit or crochet. There are lots of free patterns available on Ravelry.com including clothing, accessories like hats scarves and gloves and toys like little dolls and stuffed animals.

Knittinghelp.com <-- knitting instructions
Toftuk.com <-- crochet instructions (a little hidden)

I also sew and have taken sewing classes, both for clothing and for dolls which my mom likes to make.

If you want hobbies that get you out of the house you could take some art classes. Before you say you have no ability to draw, drawing and painting is a skill you can develop. If you are willing to practice then you can learn to draw or paint.

You could also take those free classes that home Depot does where they teach you how to tile or install toilets or generally fix things around your house. If you're into that sort of thing, and you should be all healed up from surgery before you do them.

Get the non-credit or continuing education booklet from your local community college and see if there are any classes you'd like to take. I've taken ceramics classes that are fun.

Hope this thread is helpful for you Smile

Serious hobbies or casual hobbies?
Like, if you're looking at a serious hobby I'd suggest investing in the stock market, there are even apps for it and things are very easy but it takes a lot of effort from your part to keep yourself up to date and stuff so it's a pretty serious hobby.
As for a casual hobby, and this will keep you occupied for over a year or more....make a short film. No, seriously, prepare a small script and just do it, you can post it in the end to YouTube and set up things so you'll get some cash for the views.
Good luck
