Quote:Armed Sheriff’s Deputy ‘Never Went In’ During Florida Shooting
Quote: The only armed security guard on campus during a deadly mass shooting at a Florida high school last week “never went in” to a building to try to take down the shooting suspect, Sheriff Scott Israel of Broward County said at a news conference on Thursday.
Scot Peterson, a sheriff’s deputy, resigned on Thursday after Mr. Israel placed him under an internal affairs investigation for failing to meet the standards of the sheriff’s office. Two other deputies, Edward Eason and Guntis Treijs, have been placed on restricted duty while the department investigates whether they could or should have done more to stop the shooter.

Amazing what a dud guy with a gun can't do in an emergency.

Always wait until the shooter runs out of ammo before shooting at him.

Good job CNN fake news, turning even more people into crazy nutters with your deception. Not letting students participate in the CNN town hall unless they read from a script that was prepared for them, according to one student. https://nypost.com/2018/02/22/shooting-s...l-meeting/ Let the students speak for themselves.

Maybe CNN was channeling St. Ronnie.

You should have told them what to air beforehand, to save confusion.

CNN says the kid is full of shit.
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/cnn...7d463ae671
Quote:The network on Thursday vehemently denied Haab’s accusation.
“There is absolutely no truth to this,” CNN said in a statement. “CNN did not provide or script questions for anyone in last night’s town hall, nor have we ever.”
“After seeing an interview with Colton Haab, we invited him to participate in our town hall along with other students and administrators from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School,” the statement says. “Colton’s father withdrew his name from participation before the forum began, which we regretted but respected.”
The story seems to have originated with some NRA scumbag. Or maybe it was a Russian bot?

Because killing people is okay if they won't give up their legally-acquired property on demand? About 30-35% of American households have one or more guns, and most of them will turn over their guns peacefully rather than take on the authorities. That will only leave a few thousand little Waco scenarios. And sure, there will be some cops killed and some collateral damage, but it'll be worth once those gun owners are all disarmed or dead. It shouldn't affect you personally, because no one you personally care about owns a gun. And afterwards, America will heal right up, just like we did after the Civil War.

I hope your right, the gun issue needs to come to an end once and for all. I see five key issues at hand here. Getting rid of Trump, deflating the military budget, gun-control, getting out of the middle east and protecting the internet from censorship. If we can focus on these five issues and put a dent in them, it will be a good start.
You also need to make an A-rating from the NRA poison for re-election. No real change on this issue is possible as long as half of congress is beholden to the NRA and doesn't see a path to re-election without them. The makeup of the elected officials in Congress has to change dramatically, and it will take more than one election to pull it off to the degree needed. A bare majority won't be enough.

When death-by-spoon becomes a big enough issue, then I'll advocate to have a ban placed on the evil utensils.
Like in the UK, you can't carry a knife unless it's a folding knife with a blade no longer than 3 inches.

There haven't been many attempts to confiscate guns in the USA, but Waco (started with search and arrest warrants for firearm violations from the ATF) and Ruby Ridge (failure to appear on firearms charges) come to mind.

Nobody wants a civil war. That is not what liberals want.
But things cant continue with "Sell more and arm everyone". If that were a cure we'd expect to see less firearm violence and deaths, not the amount we currently see.
Just saw a story in Scotland about their mass shooting that changed their laws. They interviewed A GUN SHOP OWNER, yes, they still allow firearms there. But he really represents a shop owner that if America's shop owners had the same attitude, we'd be a safer society. A GUN SHOP OWNER, values the way their laws work and their regulations because they understand that firearms are not candy.
We DONT want to become a fascist state, that is NOT what liberals want. But if anyone wants to argue that our firearm regulations are already strict enough, that is a joke.
Just the cost of injury, death and PTSD for survivors is costing tax payers. We simply cannot continue doing things the way we are doing them. I do think we can learn from our allies like New Zealand, Scotland and Australia. Nobody can claim those are fascist dictatorships.

At what word? How many 'gun nuts' have ever said, 'If the government tries to take away my assault rifle, I'm going to shoot up a school'?
Boru
You're coming off as dim, which isn't usually like you. They'll try to shoot the people who try to take their guns. They'll hole up and it will take a siege to get them out. Just like Waco and Ruby Ridge.

If a Constitutional amendment was passed to ban ownership of handguns the Constitution's actual importance to the gunners would become immediately apparent.
At the point you could pass that Amendment, America would be ready for that level of gun control.
