Until, you know, we slaughtered and butchered them.

If done correctly killing an animal is done humanely, after they are dead they know nothing about being butchered. Many predators begin eating their prey before it's dead at least we do not do that, I hope.

Apparently he doesn't believe there's an afterlife for animals.

There is no place for sentimental thoughts about animals when Jesus is inside of you daily.

Of course there's no doggy heaven.

But there IS a Silicon Heaven.

If there's not, where do all the calculators go?

Hey, maybe animal farming and killing becomes history sooner then you think with everybody winning:

Lab-grown 'clean' meat could be on sale by end of 2018, says producer

Cultured tissue, harvested without killing any animals, could allow scientists to grow meals’ worth of products with just a handful of starter cells

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
