Doesn't PETA have something better to do?

I am a member of P.E.T.A. ! People for the Eating of Tasty Animals!

Obviously God intended us to eat animals.  Why else make them out of bacon, steak, leg of lamb, and the rest?  Duh.

I wonder what PETA's policy would be on putting dogs on the menu.  Also, if we dock their ears or tails when they're young surely all such extraneous pieces along with male foreskins are good for the stew.

PETA are a bit like Greenpeace. I’m sure both organizations started out with good intentions, but the most radical members have taken over and now PETA kills thousands of animals in their shelters (which is necessary but hypocritical) and Greenpeace are anti-GMO eco-terrorists.

Why is it necessary to kill animals in the shelters? Too expensive to just neuter and raise them to old age?

In the US we don't even treat veteran that well.

The official test is to put all your cats in a giant pair of pants you wear commando style with a ball of catnip.  If you survive you keep the cats and at least you will be neutered and won't produce any more hoarders.

I'm not huge into dog shows. I think it's boring and weird. I also hate the "purebred" ideal. It just leads to dogs with health problems. That said, PETA is super dumb. I like the Humane Society.

While I have absolutely no meas at all for PETA, given the kind of genetic mutilation suffered over generations by the breeds of dogs which show at Crufts (disclaimer my uncle breeds Yorkshire Terriers, which as far as I can see don't suffer from the problems many of the breeds at Crufts do), I'm not exactly going to protest too hard at their actions.

Well, if breeding "purebreds" leads to health problems in the offspring, then it's objectively bad. Don't get me wrong. There are several breeds I utterly adore. I simply think it's not good for the dogs. Having seen dogs with hip dysplasia and a particularly sweet English bulldog stare at the wall while having seizures, I can't condone it. I've always had mutts and/or rescues and always will.

My aunt rescued a female dog who'd been overbred by a Yorky puppy mill. She loved that horrid little shit, and I at least felt bad for it. Fuck those people.
