Contrary to popular belief the world doesn't revolve around Hitler, the Jews, or the "holocaust".

No, it doesn't.

But that doesn't mean we should forget about the actions carried out against a whole group of people simply because they're a minority.  Let's not forget, it wasn't just Jews who were slaughtered by this madman's regime. "Gypsies" and others who were considered "subhuman", including the mentally ill were slaughtered in their thousands.

And you're right, Hitler likely didn't kill anyone himself in the war.  But he and his underlings either ordered it or were fully aware of it and did nothing to end it.  Delegation is a wonderful thing, isn't it?  It was a common excuse among those who carried out the atrocities that they were "just following orders".  As the "man" at the top of the regime, he is ultimately responsible.

And yes, he MAY have been fighting domestic "terrorists" at first.  Though that doesn't excuse the actions of his underlings or explain the targeted killings of specific groups in areas his armies conquered.  The einsatzgruppen didn't follow up the advancing armies to fight partisans.  They were specifically tasked to locate and wipe out parts of the population.

Does this justify ignoring the atrocities of other groups at the time or since?  Of course not.

But let's not ignore a terrible event that left millions dead.

It makes us appear just like the Turks denying the Armenian genocide.

That would have been a neat trick..since the concept of warcrimes arises in 1899 and 1907, but would not be fully developed until the establishment of the nuremburg principles and geneva conventions as a direct response to WW2.

..........in the 1800's......., but, truthfully..people did say words, even then, and the whole bit was then and has gone down as a deplorable episode in history.  Well...to those of us who think that sort of shit isn't "fighting domestic enemies" - which was..predictably, Leopolds position on native uprisings and unrest.  He was trying to help the savages..and to do so forced labor was employed..particularly to produce rubber.  This was also a going concern at auschwitz, where jews were employed in greenhouses tending to experiments in rubber production.   Now, leopolds regime favored cutting off the hands of recalcitrant laborers.....but the Nazis had a different SOP for that in poland.

"Domestic enemies" in eleven foreign countries, and the best way to "fight" them was shuffling them into concentration camps as forced labor before..eventually, attempting to exterminate them. I suppose if you step back and take a look at the totality of history in this...the 1800s and 1900s were what formed our changing views of what was and wasn;t acceptible in a war (or in "fighting domestic enemies" or the treatment of ones own undesirable citizens or how our tacit or implicit support contributed to all of it). We saw the trail of tears, the civil war, the congo, the armenian genocide, ww1, ww2 and the holocaust...all..roughly, within 100 years (and this excludes a long list of other atrocities known and unknown to me). Is it surprising that were emerged from the other side of that century different than when we went in?

I have mixed feelings on this. To be fair he did mention other ethnic groups. Still bad either way. I believe Putin is a very evil man and his intentions are purely evil and selfish. He wants to bring Russia back to it's USSR roots, just stronger. I think at the end of the day there are honestly more important things to be worried about than what someone said. Yes, it was bad, but we have bigger issues. I know this may not be a popular opinion either. And yes, I do understand how this sort of thing hasn't gone over well in recent history. Two wrongs don't make a right though and this sort of thing should not be tolerate. But we also should consider the context.
