Funny thing about her is that she didn't swear. Everyone in the house did but she didn't for some reason though she would copy other things people said.
When we first got her (as a rescue who had not been treated well) she would lunge at the cage when I walked by. I would say "Mean ass bird!" A couple weeks later husband said I better stop doing that as she was saying it. So, I changed it to "mean ole bird". Eventually she did too. The first thing she said that she wasn't taught was "Chewy want some." If she smelled French Fries, she would say it. Son's friend nearly fainted when he heard her. I'm gonna miss that mean ass bird.
My precious dog Lucy died last Wednesday. One minute, she was running back and forth barking at the neighbor dog. An hour later, she took her last breath.
She started as a foster on January 1. We adopted her in April. She had some anemia, but it was getting better with steroids. She will be sorely missed. Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

She was an older dog (we don't know exactly how old) and had a very troubled life before coming to us. We knew we didn't have much time with her. We just didn't expect it was so little. She died in her bed, with people she loved and that love her. As far as we can tell, she didn't experience pain. I can't imagine a better way to go.
Sorry for your loss. Even such a short time is enough to have a bond with a pet.
