Linda Brown of Brown v. Board of Education died (76)
https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/26/us/linda-...index.html

Brown v. Board of Education is one of the most well known Supreme Court Cases in US History.  Up there with Roe v. Wade, Gideon v. Wainwright, and Miranda v. Arizona.  But not many people know the name Linda Brown--a 9 year old black girl who was denied entry to an all-white school.  There were, of course other plaintiffs in the case.  What originally started as multiple cases were brought together as one under the name Brown.

Much like some later cases (Obergefell v. Hodges being the most recent) there were a lot of objections to the ruling.  Using many of the same arguments people did at the time of Brown.

Unfortunately, though it isn't enshrined by law, segregation still remains a problem today.  It's a problem that persists.  And it's one that needs to be dealt with swiftly.  To think that we haven't been able to solve it within the life time of a 9 year old girl who was once denied entry into a school due to the color of her skin is outrageous.  We'll never eliminate racism, but we can certainly hope to eliminate segregation from public schools.
The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Thurgood Marshall argued before the Supreme Court for Brown v Board of Education and later was appointed to the Supreme Court.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
