I still think getting a flu shot is directly linked to getting the flu

RE: I still think getting a flu shot is directly linked to getting the flu
My kids came home, today, with a note from the Health Dept.  Turns out that whooping cough is a thing round here...their school has it.  Cant send em back with a cough without a doctors note.

Mine are vaccinated...but have bronchitis.

FLU, lol.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That said, due to numerous factors, including the rapid rates of mutation that require a new vaccine every  year, occasional defects in manufacture, and immune irregularities in some people, it isn't all that effective. With the wildly variable effectiveness rates demonstrated in the article, even if the whole population took it, herd immunity might not actually take hold. Admittedly, the effects of getting it and it backfiring aren't really worse than not getting it at all, but to me it's a case of the benefits of doing so not really outweighing the benefits of not doing so.

The only risk to flu vaccination swirls around people who are allergic to eggs, lol.and if you're allergic to eggs....ofc the flu is going to kill you. It's worse than eggs.

Er?

What? If you're curious about the benefits of taking the vaccine and not taking it, I mentioned in my first post that every time I get the vaccine, I end up getting the full disease anyway. If I don't, well, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. This year, for example, according to the CDC, it was apparently a pretty bad year and yet I didn't get the flu, despite not taking the jab. Like I said, that's just me.

If it's about herd immunity not working, remember, the stats in the article say it works about 70% of the time at best (and one recent flu season was just over 20%), which, from my understanding of herd immunity, is less than optimal.

Are you saying that the vaccine gave you the flu? If not, then you disagree with OP and agree with me! Which is it?

That is my hypothesis, yes. It may be because of irregularities with my immune system, it could be bad luck, but the coorelation is strong in my case.

Can you consider your case a correlation? By what standard do you establish bad luck?

When I get the disease every year I get the vaccine, but don't get it every year I don't get the vaccine, I would consider that a significant correlation. And I would consider getting a vaccine from a batch where the deactivation process fails to properly work (one reason it might not work) bad luck, especially if it happens EVERY TIME (and from multiple doctors)
