Trump Adminstration Pushes Abstinence Only Sex Education

I can't think of anything more immoral than pushing the idea that condoms are bad. Condoms are perhaps the greatest invention and product of all time. Less deadly diseases and less people born to suffer in a shitty world! The greatest possible win-win for well-being all in one.

I like the idea of teaching and encouraging abstinence to teenage kids as the only 100% safe option against both pregnancy and STD's. But I still think contraceptives should be tought so that the kids know what they are and how they work, etc. I'm pretty sure even when I was in Catholic grade school, we were taught in health class about all the different contraceptives and how they work. It doesn't mean the kids are being encouraged to have sex, it's just a regular part of learning about sexuality and health.

I'd rather teenage kids not have sex with each other at all. But if they do, I'd rather them use a condom than get pregnant and possibly have an abortion.

I sometimes wonder how porn actors can do it by will. I need atmosphere.

I guess they're unique and I guess that's why not everybody can be a porn actor.

It may also explain why many male porn actors are ugly as sin... being good looking isn't the priority for male porn stars.... having a magic penis that needs no atmosphere is, lol. There's even porn stars with not especially big dicks, but they can all keep going forever lol. It's like they're just horny all the time.

Hard to argue against the the benefits of abstinence when it comes to the perpetuation of multi-generational poverty.

No that is an argument for birth control. 
Asking people to not have sex is exactly the same as asking them to not have a poo.
It is a basic physical urge.

Abstinence-only education making a comeback under Trump

Abstinence-only education — encouraging adolescents to wait until marriage for sex — is making a comeback under President Trump.
In a marked departure from the previous administration, conservatives at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are putting an emphasis on abstinence to reduce teen pregnancy rates.



“We definitely are seeing a shift,” said Kelly Marcum, a government affairs legislative assistant at the Family Research Council in Washington, which supports abstinence-only education.
“We’re really excited to see that the administration is giving some tools back to us to keep pushing that fight.”
So far, the administration has encouraged organizations applying for Title X federal family planning funds to include in their programs a “meaningful emphasis” on “the benefits of avoiding sex” when communicating with adolescents and to use programs that don’t “normalize sexual risk behaviors.”
The Trump administration also plans to release its first report early this summer as part of a $10 million research project looking at ways to improve sex education programs, with a focus on the impact of “sexual delay.”

Okay but what about in yoga class.  Would you be against teaching girls positions which do not keep the legs closed?

Yeah, you can't really stop kids from having sex if that's what they want to do. We can encourage them in the abstinence direction and explain why it's the better option and try to make a positive influence... But at the end of the day, the choice to hold off on sex has to come from within. I try not to forget what it's like to be a teenager.

Ugh. I cannot even fathom 10 year olds having sex. That is so disturbing.

I think the idea is to catch them before they start.

Or .. if just after they start, put the hose on them until they separate.

The funny thing is, they are doing this to lower pregnancy rates when it doesn't work.

Kids need real sex ed. A place they can ask questions. A place where they can learn how to stay safe.

They shouldn't be told "Just wait until you are married." That's dangerous, because they'll do it anyway, without knowledge of how to prevent STD's or prevent pregnancy.

Statistics show that informing them is much more effective. And obviously, it keeps them safer.
