Explain this, theists
God has no problem killing millions of people, but he can't kill Satan?

What gives?

Really .. you don't know this..

Satan is an anagram of Santa, and clearly you cannot kill Santa without unanimous U.N. Backing (which you will not get)
Add to that the hoards of angry kids...

So God is left in a bit of a pickle !!

I should imagine it's along the lines of god allows free will blah blah.. Stalin had free will blah blah, Hitler had free will.. blah blah.. BUT if you rub two sticks together on the sabbath (using the same free will) you will be stoned under god's just and righteous law. How is that not easy to get ?

RE: Explain this, theists
The war Satan waged is not against God; he knows very well that he lost from day 1.
Satan's goal is to take as much humans as he can to hell with him.

When he rebelled against God's decision to create Adam; Satan was cursed, doomed and promised hell instantly:

Quote:Sura 17, The Quran:
( 61 )   And [mention] when We said to the angles, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except for Satan. He said, "Should I prostrate to one You created from clay?"
( 62 )   [Satan] said, "Do You see this one whom You have honored above me? If You delay me until the Day of Resurrection, I will surely destroy his descendants, except for a few."
( 63 )   [Allah] said, "Go, for whoever of them follows you, indeed Hell will be the recompense of you - an ample recompense.
( 64 )   And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers and become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them." But Satan does not promise them except delusion.
( 65 )   Indeed, over My [believing] servants there is for you no authority. And sufficient is your Lord as Disposer of affairs.

Satan's move is not a war. It's a dragging of as many humans as he can to hell with him. He is a psychopath who is also a racist.
He commit the first act of racism ever, after all. And racism is what drove him mad. His problem is with us mainly.

God gave him his demand to test us. That's how the test's pillars stand firm:

-God created us
-Satan felt jealous just like any racist, and decided to wage war on humans
-God banished him from heaven
-The first humans still decided to listen to Satan, even though he was fooling them
-God banished humans too from heaven, so that we don't enter heaven again until we prove that we are worthy.

Now TBH; Satan knew from day 1 that he will go to hell.

If you want to rule with the "Heathen" way that glorifies Satan and picture things like there's a war between heaven and earth; that's up to you.
Personally I believe in the Islamic scenario to be the real one.

You asked an important question.  Of course. The subject will be free-will.

God could have taken the route where he is like nanny protector that protects us from all dangers.

He could have made it that Angels cannot fall or falter or if they did, they cannot harm and misguide. But then good would have little value if God would himself imprison every soul that attempts at evil and harm. There would also be no need of us enjoining each other good and forbidding evil, and seeking to protect one another from harms. Morality and goodness hence would be severely limited in trial, and the truly good would never be known to either God or ourselves.

He could have also created his representatives among Angels and made the Angels rule us.

There would be no way to harm them or kill them by human efforts, but, he has purposely designed a very volatile trial. Things could have from the get go very well and been maintained very well.  Or things could get incredibly bad and worse.

One advantage of having the evil force Iblis there and as a manifest enemy, is that we learn to fight in combat and rely on God in the battle for our souls.

One advantage is that the strength in love and it's source is more manifested when combating evil that the source is not ourselves, but rather it's us submitting and obeying the suggestions of the dark one, when we go into heedless mode of life, and so when we awaken, awaken to a great fight between good and evil.

He could have caged the cursed one and protected us, but he deemed us a formidable creation that can take him,  I appreciate that God believes in me personally, even if at times I seem to show little faith in following the path of virtue.

God doesn't want to get His hands dirty sticking gigantic barbed dildos up sinners butts so he contracted all that work out to the lowest bidder. Satan has done well enough, God got a great deal, and neither one of them want to upset the apple cart now.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

It's not just that, though.

The ill logics of biblical proportions that we point out don't seem to phase theists, because they are too caught up with their cognitive dissonances.

Apologetic arguments abound more than bunnies in a springtime meadow due to delusion overriding reality and reason.

A god that is supposedly OMNI can only seem to do that which a primitive human mind conceptualized.  Which does not make the god a god at all, but merely a primitive human creation.
