The debate of whether or not such a competition is "fair" in your mind has no bearing whatsoever on whether if is right for people with male bodies to compete against people with female bodies regardless of how they subjectively think about their gender. Sporting events are physical competitions. It's like having Formula1 cars racing against NASC cars based on the side panel advertisements. If you cannot see that and think getting in the last word makes you right then you're more of an idiot than I imagined.

These scientific observations are based on statistical averages; there is no objective measure by which to determine if any individual brain belongs to a man or a woman.

Moreover, it is generally acknowledged that sex is a biological fact; whereas, gender is a social construction, i.e. a set of normative beliefs about sexuality. Beliefs are not hard-wired into the brain. And your beliefs are not supported by, and are actually contrary, to science.

Also, while gender may be a social construct, it isn’t necessarily just social.  It’s informed by one’s physiology and brain chemistry.  Which means you can’t have it both ways - it can’t be both a mental illness and something that people choose.

And, let’s be clear here: in the cases we’re talking about, proper treatment of this condition is gender reassignment.  Willfully not recognizing that reassignment, or belittling it, is bigotry.  So, yeah, calling them by their preferred pronoun in front of their face, but then purposely calling them by a different set behind their back makes you an asshole and a bigot.  It’s no different than calling someone an African-American in public, then the n-word in private.  It’s the way weasels prevent getting their asses kicked, nothing more.

Finally, regarding the military, personnel receive prescription medications all the damn time.  Many hormone treatments are simply administered orally.  This is, as conservatives like to say, a nothingburger.
