Lots of non human things possess a conscious. Do they also have souls? More fundamentally, why should some natural feature of your corporeal frame determine whether or not you have a soul? Do certain types of biology produce them as a consequence of consciousness, or something?

Hey Khemikal. How have you been? Its been a while.
Yes, I believe animals possess souls. I think the Bible is clear that there are animals in heaven and I believe animals will all be saved based on verses in the Bible.

Yes, I believe animals possess souls. I think the Bible is clear that there are animals in heaven and I believe animals will all be saved based on verses in the Bible.
That's nice. Do these animals have souls, likewise, because of their conscious? Is a soul a product of a specific biology?
Additionally...I'm assuming that non conscious things don't have souls and so can't be "saved". Things like trees and sperm, for example?

Their conscious is a part of their soul. It is their spiritual being.
Maybe trees, plants, and the like can be reborn in eternity. I don't believe the Bible specifies but I can't see why not.

Can your soul see anything ? No
Can it feel anything ? No
Smell, taste, hear ? No
Think ? No
If you are unconscious and you had some other kind of backup etheral mind / body connected to you, then you would be able to see and hear and experience all the things that this etheral soul can experience.
But you already know what happens when you are unconscious. Nothing. Zero. Devoid of experience.
Not even a thought.
And while you are unconscious, you have no way of determining whether or not you're dead.
