Or, at least...for the faithful it;s a trap.  We could insist that there doesn;t need to be any particular design for a rock..though in this case the rocks are designed.  Like a pet rock.  That preserves the credibility of complexity as an indiactor of -something-, at least.  The trouble is that it also introduces two poison pills to the creationist position.

The first being that some things™ don;t need to be designed..by god, specifically.  The second being that sometimes™ god does things that look exactly like no god doing nothing. One can immediately implore as to whether dna is one of those some things™, this being one of those sometimes™.

Commonly, though, and our OP is a case..those who argue for ID are unable to reconcile their own thoughts on the matter. Affirming their beliefs refutes the argument. Affirming the argument refutes their beliefs. An impossible position.

No, it is just engineers know and understand design better than anyone.  When we see a code which is transported into an assembly line where various parts are placed together depending on the sequence of the code which then determines the component made which is then transported and formed into its functional shape which is then transported to a cell to perform its function, we as engineers see design and manufacturing which we work with and study ostensibly.  It is obviously designed and it is at a nano-scale and more specific and complex then we can dream.  There is really nothing to argue here, DNA is designed.

The bias of some engineers to perceive design has been previously noted. Fortunately, science has ways of accounting for bias so we can find what is actually the case when engineers arrogantly presuming to know better than specialists in the field guess wrong. Your claim falls apart if there is a natural explanation for the existence of DNA, and there is. RNA world may still turn out not to be the actual case, it's hard to test a hypothesis with evidence hundreds of millions of years old; but the hypothesis exists and the chemistry and math work; proving that an intelligent designer is not the only possible explanation, and that the evidence we do have supports abiogenesis, though not conclusively.

If a god somehow willed all this into creation or not, what difference does it make if we believe it to be so or not?
Clearly, that god is not bothering to come forward and actually tell us unequivocally that he's responsible for this all, so I guess he's not interested in having us properly aware of that fact.
If that god doesn't want us to acknowledge his act of creation, why do you (and others like you) come here and work against god's will?

Not as sad as someone who loudly proclaims that he can't possibly be wrong and anyone who disagrees with him shouldn't be working in the field of DNA research, which is close to 100% of people actually researching the nature of DNA. It's a good thing molecular biologists have mechanical engineers to 'ID-splain' their own work to them.
