We can’t really do much with that. That said, trolls always do get bored or shoot themselves in the foot, so you guys shouldn’t worry. If he’s a troll, it’ll take care of itself. I know you weren’t knocking. Just explaining why it didn’t go the way you’d think. I don’t give a single remote shit what another forum does. They probably have a tighter interpretation of preaching/trolling. That’s not something we police. Again, a troll would never be able to cause this much disruption without help. This thread is full of troll food, if he is indeed a troll. I’m not going to read 500 pages of it to make a decision, so until someone can produce a single post with a broken rule in it, I’m officially ignoring this thread.
(This is nothing more than my personal take on things.)
Yup, TTA handle things differently. I understand both approaches, and each has their own merits. I agree with him being banned on TTA, but I respect him not being banned here (yet). I feel that the crucial factor is that he is mostly keeping all this drivel in a single thread. In this way, it doesn't disrupt the forum as a whole. One thread is easily ignored and others are not derailed. Feel free to send me a private message.

Guys. If we kill this thread by ignoring it, he will probably start others. Let’s let him hang himself.

However, there comes a time when one must look at the blatant disrespect to this part of the rules: "The forums were created for the purpose of providing friendly discussion and debate between atheists and other like-minded individuals, as well as theists. Theists are more than welcome to join and enter into discussions but please bear in mind the nature of this community when entering into a discussion." This guy isn't here to learn. He's not here to engage in any sort of meaningful discussion. He's not here to understand anyone else's position with regard to the thread topic. And he certainly didn't come here with an open mind. Other than his intro thread, the rest of his 1000+ posts have been here, in this thread. His entire goal has been to either preach or push an agenda of intentionally spreading misinformation. Succubus even links his posts from a Christian forum and if you read his thread topic there, he was advised by another member to at least try and learn from us here, and to be open to the ideas of others. He's done none of that, even though scientific evidence has been presented to him that refutes his original post. He's about as dishonest as they come and has insisted since the start of this thread that he's right and everyone else is wrong, ad nauseum. Yep, we could ignore this guy in a heartbeat. We could also wish and hope that he will eventually just go away. But why should we allow him to continue to intentionally post untruths and screw with the integrity of this place? Why should we tolerate that as long as there are people lurking and looking to try and possibly learn something? Technically, we aren't responsible for the education of others, but many members have hit home the point of how bad religious indoctrination is, so in a way, our silence would only be enabling that indoctrination. I thought we were better than that. What's the point of complaining about how theists are influencing the minds of others if we fail to take action when given the opportunity? I believe, that when we invite others in, that there should be an additional agreement from those with opposing views or religious views, when deciding to post here. If it becomes obviously clear that they are here with an agenda that is not in keeping with the integrity of this website or one that fails to serve the purpose of engaging in friendly and meaningful discussion with "like-minded individuals", they should be shown the damn door. At what point does it come down to a choice between letting a person continue to spread falsities about factual information and shutting down a thread so that he can no longer mislead people with those falsities? It's a slippery slope but at the end of the day, doing the right thing should win out and people should be prevented from spreading false information here. Again, it comes down to integrity. If he wants to be misleading with his information, he can do that on sites that support that sort of behavior. And before anyone starts their shit on my opinion, please remember it's just that. My opinion. I know it carries no weight here, but I don't think I'm saying anything that anyone else wasn't thinking with regards to this particular poster. Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.
My feeling is that we are allowing this nonsense more credit than it deserves by letting it stay in the General Science section of the forum.
ID should be consigned to the Scepticism and Pseudoscience sub-forum where it deserves to be. The OP is not looking at actual science but shoehorning science into his preconceived beliefs. Hie thee hither! RE: DNA Proves Existence of a Designer

And he certainly didn't come here with an open mind. Let's be frank aren't all theists on this forum like that especially creationists? They all just run in circles and we constantly go back to what they said because they ignore what ever contradicts what they want to believe. These are people with mental issues and should be treated with that in mind and not expecting that some rational discussion can change their mind or that they can actually understand what you are saying.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
