Blog section?

Other forums do have it, like I had mentioned religious forums, but they do it as a subsection of a larger section. I like that personally, because it gives a sense of personal space. Not a ''safe space'' just that personal area where you can run down the page and see various blogs at once. Anyways, 'twas just a thought.  lol

Other forums having it doesn’t make it normal. It’s not included by default in forum software. However if you can find 20 people who are willing to actually commit to blogs, I’ll see if there is a plugin.

Oh, I see what you're saying. To make it easier, would creating a subforum titled ''member blogs'' (which would be essentially threads that are the blogs) be more realistic? I don't want to see you go through any cost or trouble, to add a feature that's not really necessary.

Find 20 people who will use it and sure, we can create a separate subforum for it. We don’t just create subforums when people ask, they clutter up the site. If lots of people are going to use it, I’ll be fine with it.

Like a personal "what's {insert name} up to today"

I'd be happy to reply to others' blogs with advice, etc but being an IT person, if I wanted one for myself, I would've easily made one years ago. It's just not for me... I'm not a social media person.

Yes, that would be great.

Okay, thanks for considering it!

So, maybe this thread can be used, for those in favor of it. If 20 people show up to say they'd like the blog section, I'll keep you informed.

Well, then we have to vote on it. We can also discuss the idea of having a sort of personal life section as a catch all for more personal blogs type stuff.

Okay, thanks! Where do I start the poll for people to vote? Like a new thread?

RE: Blog section?
A poll isn’t what I want. Most people can just view a poll, think “yeah I’ll do that” and then won’t do it. What I want to see is 20 people who actually commit to doing a blog. If we go through the effort of setting this up and only a handful of people use it, it’s not worth it.

RE: Blog section?
But, it might take time. Like most newer sections, it takes time to populate, for diff reasons. Over the course of a few months, you might get more than 20 people starting new blogs/journals. So, I'm not sure what the ''vision'' is for it, but that's typically how I've seen it work. But, I guess if you're looking for a rough idea of who would be interested in starting blogs, I get that. But, you could have 20 people who say 'yea, I'll start one,' and it takes a few months to actually see 20 new blogs, for example, if that makes sense. Basically, you're not going to see 20 new blogs right out of the gate, is more of my point. I could be wrong, which would be great...
