As far as I am concerned, Partition should never have happened. The US and and the UK should just have kept their dicks out of the ME, back then. I think that we (the US and he UK) wouldn't be in this mess now, if that were the case. The lust for light, sweet crude is just irresistible, I guess.

Middle East oil is really not important to the US anymore. Fracking technology and declining demand was on track to making the US self sufficient in fossil fuel.
However, it seems that trump, by rolling back Obama’s auto gas efficiency standard and increasing consumption, is working hard to make the US more dependent on oil imports again.

It was UK/France originally, with UK/Russia in Persia The whole hot mess goes back to Sykes Picot and the Balfour declaration during WW1.

As noted on more than one cable news channel last night/today, senate dems weren't too thrilled with the deal at the time Obama made it either.
Trumply coming around to their take on the Iran nuke deal might have been seen as rapprochement with a more enlightened audience ??
