This is true, it's actually true given one condition, if we approach unjustly, it will increase us in nothing but loss.

As I was extremely hasty and imposed my own understanding, I ended up with 40 problems with Quran and even more then that.

But when I took another look and started understanding language, and not imposing ignorance on it, and not relying on clergy, wonders began to open up for me.

And I would read Quran sometimes in the morning in awe, and I would disbelieve in the night looking for excuses to disbelieve.

And vice versa... 

And I was wavering from one stance to the other, for a long time, without jumping ship (for about two years).

But then when things clicked it, they clicked.

From an outsider perspective you are right.  They both seem like equally valid explanations. In fact, it took me a long time to see flow of verses in a Surah and now I See flow of Surah to Surah.

At one point, most of it seemed meaningless to me, because I was hasty.

And that's a danger, Quran can believed in due to confirmation bias, and if it is, it will not guide, it will become more confusing and misguide. This is because essential part of it's paradigm is never to follow leadership or a religion or attribute to God anything without knowledge and proof.


And so while I was a Muslim before due to coming to Quran with confirmation bias, it was meaningless in many respects, yet I still felt due to the same reason people feel their religions are from God that Quran was from God.

Right now, the Quran I read is not even close to what I use to read. 

They are completely different and I expect to even become a whole another level of experience and understanding in the future.
