Eating dogs in China...

The Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China is coming up soon (21 June - 30 June).
Wikipedia Wrote:The Lychee and Dog Meat Festival, commonly referred to as Yulin Dog Meat Festival, is an annual celebration held in Yulin, Guangxi, China, during the summer solstice in which festival goers eat dog meat and lychees. The festival began in 2009 and spans about ten days during which it is estimated that 10,000–15,000 dogs are consumed. The festival has been criticised by animal welfare and supporters.
Being a non-vegetarian myself, I find that I have no grounds to criticize the festival. But I wonder why the animal rights supporters (last line from the Wikipedia quote) don't criticize the killing of pigs, fowl or fish. It's probably because those animals aren't as "cute" as dogs.

I have a very sociable, lovable Rottie. I have no doubt she would eat me if she had to. Her playfullness is all predator/ prey games. Turn about is fair play!

Old tough and stringy dogs?
No way.
Fresh tender delicious puppies, on the other hand . . . .

I love kangaroos. Evidently they are a delicacy in other countries. To each their own.

My Golden Retriever rescue has three puppies waiting for us in S. Korea. They were rescued from a meat farm near Incheon by what I can only describe as "activists." Their momma was not so fortunate.
And yes, dogs are cute. Pigs? Not so much.
