Just like the people here who hate God play a role. their's is to become the obstacles that test and try the faith full they become the storms of life that help proof and sharpen the faith of those who believe.

Now i know you want to hide behind logical fallacy here, but in truth the same thing was said about lincoln when the democrats succeeded from the union after his election. again for the same sort of reason. in that lincoln was built up to be a monster or represent a whole party of right crushing monsters and the country divided and fought a civil war because people hated something that did not exist.

Also, very interesting how, "Worship no other gods before me" is in there but not, don't rape people, or, particularly for the Catholic church, don't molest kids.

The reason it's written that way is because the idea that it's selling is that a person must be loyal regardless of the situation.  A careful analysis of the various stories reveal that is basically what they are all about.  That one of the reasons they performed circumcisions.  It locked in the males in the cult before they even knew that they were alive.  It's also why a lot of criminal gangs force their members to get all tattooed up.  Once they are marked it becomes impossible for the members to leave the gang.  It's forced loyalty to the end.

The biblical God character was simply the series of men and priests who ruled the various dominate Middle Eastern empires in ancient times.  Sometimes the God was the Egyptian pharaoh.  Other times it was the Hittite, Babylonian, Assyrian, Chaldean, or Persian emperor.  The head priests put the spin on the fairy tale.

The biblical God character bit the dust for good with the collapse of the Babylonian empire around 530 BC and the death of its emperor.  He's not coming back.  They tried to resurrect him with the Greeks but it didn't work out.

Up here in New York we hated Trump long before he became "dictator." I promise you that ain't the reason.
