God’s personality is quite like those of Donald trump, except god doesn’t just brag about killing to pretend how awesome he is.
God’s commandment forbidding other gods is a little like trump;s MAGA. Things will look even less great again if the victims are allowed a look at someone else’s heaven and earth.

Theists, If it's from God, then logically it tells me that God knew there are other gods around competing for your worship.
And that he urges you profusely to worship him in particular (or else you'll burn! mofo. Geez, you're a great salesman God! Go Yahwey!)
Theists, Do you acknowledge this at least? If not, why not.
We atheists feel it's infinitely more probable that this was written by men. Men who knew that different cultures supported or favoured different Gods (religions).
Men who had a vested interest in swaying the masses towards a particular theology. Why else would this threat need to be written if it wasn't about control?

Not only do I think it's an implicit acknowledgement of polytheism, but you have to remember the whole quote. Which would be even more uncomfortable to explain as a Christian or Jew.
