Lol.... I can't bring myself to insult an old gray-haired soldier sitting on his duffel bags.

The cockatoo.
They settle in groups on a tree and over the course of a few days they pick it to pieces.
They like to wake you up early and kookaburras are bastards for this also.
When they screech you can imagine the translation would be 'fuck you'.

I do like the fairy-wren, only a little bird.
The male is blue coloured and has a little harem of brown females.
He's constantly protecting them and often bashes the shit out of mirrors.
If you see two males, it's father and son, dad showing his boy the ropes.
Doesn't last long.

My parents used to pay good money to bring us to the San Diego zoo when I was wee fella.  I always loved the call of the kookaburra.  But in the morning, outside where I'm sleeping and without an off button?  No, that would be too much.

You know what the sound of the Kookaburra reminds me of? This:

Technically, the sound effect at the beginning is a sample of Tramaine singing "Hallelujah" that Paul Oakenfield processed to the point where the word is unrecognisable, but it took until I decided to research this as part of my research into my Anglotopia review of 24 Hour Party People before I actually found that out. I could have sworn it was either some animal or a sample of some world music performance that's totally alien to the Western pop tradition.

Maybe listening to two kookaburras singing on a balcony at 9 AM would be annoying, but would that change if they were jamming with Happy Mondays? Okay, given Shaun Ryder's history of behaviour ranging from the eccentric to the utterly jackasstic (see the recording of Yes Please for more information), that might be worse.

Those are very noisy birds. But, I got to stand right next to one with it's zookeeper at Steve Erwin's zoo in Australia. They are pretty damned big too.

They sound like screaming chimps.

Sleep deprivation mostly but those beaks look pretty powerful too.  If Hitchcock had used these in The Birds the birds would have won out.

In my garden I feed several wild birds that live in the area but the best of all is the brush turkey.
While most of them fly away if you get too close the brush turkey once he know you doesn't and I can feed him with my hands.
And he is not fussy with the food either.
He eat almost anything you give him.
How nice.  Rolleyes
